As I was talking to one of my fellow standing prayer partners about our days, I was complaining about being attacked all day. It was dark and gloomy, My thoughts where lower than they have ever been, then my prayer partner started loosing hope as we where talking because we started the whole woe is me our wives wont come back thing again, but as I was talking to him it hit me. OUCH!!! Ok nothing physical hit me just the word of God and a revelation. One of the things I have been praying for is to just make this stop hurting, I don't care if she comes back or not I just want the pain to stop. I know you fellow standers know exactly what I am talking about. Rudely I interrupted my friend because God smacked me upside the head with this revelation. I said "Wait a minute............" I didn't really wait a minute before I said anything though. I said "What the heck are we doing?. We are basically telling God he is a liar and he is not in control when we get this way. We know the word of God. we know what the prize is at the end of this and no its not our wives coming back". Its eternal life in His presence,

We have all lost sight of the big picture do to pain.

We took our eyes off of God, think about it when you stop thinking about God what happens at that very second? Pain, and self pity. We need to keep our eyes on Him every second of the day, not just during hard times, but especially in good times. Don't stop talking to Him at all, think about how you feel when your wife ignores how you feel. Well when you don't talk to Him and start focusing on the problem just think how He feels.

The story that came to mind with this is Jesus walking on the water. "Well Scott what does walking on water have to do with ignoring Gods word and his promise?" I am glad you asked that random reader let us open the Bible to Matthew 14: 24-33, Ok so you don't have to go find your Bible I will read it to you. Hang on let me find mine....... Meanwhile, the disciples were in trouble far away from land, for a strong wind had risen, and they were fighting heavy waves. About three o’clock in the morning Jesus came toward them, walking on the water. When the disciples saw him walking on the water, they were terrified. In their fear, they cried out, “It’s a ghost!†But Jesus spoke to them at once. “Don’t be afraid,†he said. “Take courage. I am here!†Then Peter called to him, “Lord, if it’s really you, tell me to come to you, walking on the water.†“Yes, come,†Jesus said. So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus. But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. “Save me, Lord!†he shouted. Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him. “You have so little faith,†Jesus said. “Why did you doubt me?†When they climbed back into the boat, the wind stopped. Then the disciples worshiped him. “You really are the Son of God!†they exclaimed.

Did you see it? Do you need to read it again? Oh ok so what happened to Peter when he took his eyes off of Jesus and started looking at the waves and the storm? He sunk. So where am I getting at? Well in our situation we tend to look at what is happening around us and not Gods promise. Sure we have good days of "My wife is coming home she just doesn't know it yet" But I know from experience those moments are not as often as they should be. We need to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus and not the circumstance, because the second we stop looking up to our Lord we sink. However the good news is when we sink what does Jesus do? He IMMEDIATELY reached out and grabbed Peter. So when you start sinking because you look at the situation and not the promise of His word, cry out to Him because He is right there to IMMEDIATELY pull you out of the sinking feelings we have. Thank Him because He has saved us He has pulled us up, after all aren't we all still here? I know I am.

Remember He wants us to watch Him, He wants to be first in our lives after all, there are a few Bible verses where it is almost bribery from him to do so. Psalms 37:4 Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Here are a few more to help you in this journey about putting God first. Galatians 2:20, Matthew 6:19-21, Romans 14:1-23, John 3:30, 2 Peter 3:9, Matthew 22:37, And many more. Remember we are standing for our marriages yes that is why we are here, but think about this, Why would God want to give anything to anyone that they cared and loved more than God Himself? I know this is a catch 22 but I promise you brothers the second you devote your inter being to Him, and not care about anything else but being in His presence is the second your wife will walk in that door. Don't try and fool yourself or God, He knows your heart just as you do, we need to genuinely put Him first above all else. Proverbs 16:3 - Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.

Thank You and God Bless
