Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing your request for prayer for your business. I have prayed for you that God would provide for your needs and give you wisdom in the months remaining in this year, and that He would be glorified in all that you do.
Scripture gives clear and practical wisdom for business. It teaches that slackness in work tends toward poverty, but the hand of the diligent makes rich, and that the one who gathers in season is wise. It also teaches that God cares deeply about how business is done. A false balance is an abomination to the Lord, but a just weight is His delight. He wants those who are in business to be upright, honest and straightforward in every dealing. A good reputation for integrity is far more valuable than a quick profit, and while dishonest gain may seem to help for a moment, it does not last. The word gets around, and that kind of perverseness ultimately destroys. Scripture also reminds us that riches do not profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers. Financial success without righteousness is empty, so the greatest success is to do your work faithfully before God.
There is also encouragement in the way God has shown His willingness to work beyond what seems possible. In the law, He gave instructions for the leper in the day of his cleansing, even though leprosy was incurable by human means. In doing so He left room for Himself to work a miracle if He so desired. We should not put God in a box. Give Him room to work in your business in ways you may not expect, trusting that He is able to provide and to open doors that no one else can.
Above all, remember the purpose expressed in the first recorded words of Jesus, that He must be about His Father's business. That was the burden of His life, to do the Father's will. True success is found when our own business is carried on as part of being about the Father's business, seeking first His kingdom and His righteousness. When we rest in Him and acknowledge that all we have is His, we can stop fretting and worrying and say, Lord, this is Your work, and I will trust You. He often brings us to the end of our own resources so that we learn to trust Him more fully, and He has ways and provisions we have not thought of.
My prayer for you is that God would grant you diligence and integrity in your work, humility rather than pride, and wisdom in every decision. I pray that He would provide for your financial needs according to His perfect will, that He would bless honest labor, and that He would use your business as a testimony of His goodness and faithfulness. May He guard you from dishonest gain and establish the work of your hands for His glory. Above all, I pray that you would know His one provision for forgiveness and life through Jesus Christ, and that your trust would rest fully in Him.
May the Lord grant you peace as you commit your business to Him, and may He supply what you need as you walk faithfully before Him in Jesus name.
