Bring Her Into My Life

Goghatar

Disciple of Prayer
Dear Lord Jesus, I come before You with an open and humble heart. I ask You to bring a woman into my life — a woman whom You have prepared, someone who will walk beside me as my life companion and, in Your perfect time, become my wife. I trust that You know the desires of my heart, and I surrender this longing fully into Your hands. Prepare my heart, Lord — soften it, mature it, and shape it for a relationship built on love, respect, and faithfulness. Remove whatever needs to be removed in me, and fill me with the qualities that make me ready to love another person the way You love us. Guide both her and me along the paths that lead toward each other, in Your timing and according to Your will. Let our meeting be Your doing, and let our bond be rooted in You from the very beginning. I believe that nothing is impossible for You.

We hear your heartfelt plea, and we join you in lifting this desire before our Heavenly Father. It is beautiful to see a man seeking God’s will in such an important area of life, trusting Him to prepare and provide a godly wife. The longing for a life companion is natural and good when aligned with God’s design for marriage—a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, reflecting Christ’s love for His church (Ephesians 5:22-33).

First, we want to affirm your surrender to God’s timing and His perfect plan. Proverbs 19:14 reminds us, *"House and riches are an inheritance from fathers, but a prudent wife is from Yahweh."* This truth underscores that a godly spouse is a gift from the Lord, and we must wait on Him to bring the right woman into your life. Impatience can lead to compromising on biblical standards, so we encourage you to remain steadfast in prayer and trust, even when the wait feels long.

We also lift up your request for personal preparation. A marriage that honors God begins with two individuals who are individually walking closely with Him. 2 Corinthians 6:14 warns, *"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?"* This means the woman you seek should be a believer in Jesus Christ, someone who shares your faith and commitment to living according to God’s Word. Courtship should be pursued with the intention of marriage, not merely companionship, and should be marked by purity, accountability, and a shared focus on Christ.

As you pray for this woman, examine your own heart as well. Are there areas where God is refining you? Are you cultivating the fruits of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23)? A godly marriage requires two people who are growing in holiness and humility, willing to serve and submit to one another in love.

We must also address the importance of guarding your heart and mind against temptation. The world often promotes relationships built on physical attraction or emotional infatuation, but Scripture calls us to a higher standard. 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 states, *"For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to control his own body in sanctification and honor, not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who don’t know God."* If you are currently in a relationship or pursuing one, ensure that it is honoring to God in every way—emotionally, spiritually, and physically. Fornication (sex outside of marriage) is a sin that grieves the Holy Spirit and can bring lasting consequences, so we must flee from it (1 Corinthians 6:18).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with grateful hearts, acknowledging that every good and perfect gift comes from You, including the gift of marriage. We lift up our brother to You, asking that You would prepare his heart, mind, and spirit for the wife You have for him. Lord, soften any areas of hardness or selfishness in him, and fill him with Your love, wisdom, and discernment. Help him to walk in purity and holiness, guarding his heart against temptation and trusting in Your timing.

Father, we also pray for the woman You are preparing for him. Wherever she is, draw her closer to You. Shape her into a Proverbs 31 woman—one who fears You, loves Your Word, and is ready to build a home that honors You. Align their paths in Your perfect timing, and let their meeting be undeniably orchestrated by Your hand. May their relationship be rooted in You from the very beginning, with both of them seeking Your will above all else.

Lord, we ask that You would protect them from the enemy’s schemes. Guard their hearts from impatience, compromise, or distraction. Help them to keep their eyes fixed on You, knowing that You are faithful to complete the good work You have begun in them (Philippians 1:6). May their future marriage be a testimony to Your grace, a reflection of Christ and the church, and a light to those around them.

We declare that nothing is impossible for You, and we trust that You will fulfill Your purposes in their lives. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Continue to seek God’s face in this season, brother. Spend time in His Word, surround yourself with godly mentors and accountability, and remain active in your local church. A wife who loves the Lord will be drawn to a man who is passionately pursuing Christ. As you wait, use this time to grow in your relationship with God, and He will direct your steps (Proverbs 3:5-6). The wait is not in vain—it is part of God’s preparation for the blessing He has in store for you.

We're right there with you, brother, as you entrust this deep desire to our Heavenly Father. It's beautiful to witness your heart's longing for a life companion, a woman who will walk beside you, love you, and support you as you both grow in faith together. We're reminded of the apostle Paul's words in 2 Corinthians 6:14, "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers," emphasizing the importance of finding a partner who shares your faith and commitment to living according to God's Word.

As you wait, we encourage you to focus on personal growth. Spend time in prayer and reflection, seeking God's will for your life. Cultivate the fruits of the Spirit - love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). Remember, a godly marriage requires two people who are growing in holiness and humility, willing to serve and submit to one another in love.

Let's also pray together:

Softening any areas of hardness or selfishness, fill him with Your love, wisdom, and discernment. Help him to walk in purity and holiness, guarding his heart against temptation and trusting in Your timing.

Shape her into a woman who fears You, loves Your Word, and is ready to build a home that honors You. Align their paths in Your perfect timing, and let their meeting be undeniably orchestrated by Your hand. In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.
