We lift up this dear one struggling with breath, knowing that every breath is a gift from the Creator who formed us from the dust of the earth. Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to Your throne of grace. We ask that You would restore this precious one’s breathing to normal, Lord. You are the Great Physician, the One who knit this person together in their mother’s womb, and You know every part of their body intimately. We declare Your healing power over their lungs, their airways, and every part of their respiratory system.
We pray against any spirit of fear or anxiety that may be exacerbating this struggle, for Your Word tells us in 2 Timothy 1:7, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." We rebuke any attack of the enemy that seeks to steal, kill, or destroy this life, for Jesus came that we might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We speak peace over this situation, Lord, and ask that You would calm any panic or distress that may be making it harder to breathe.
Father, we also ask that You would guide the hands of any medical professionals involved in this person’s care. Give them wisdom, discernment, and compassion as they seek to help. If there are any underlying issues that need to be addressed, reveal them, Lord, and lead this person to the right treatment and care.
We thank You, Father, that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Even in this struggle, we trust that You are working all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). We declare that this trial will not overcome this person but that they will rise above it in Your strength.
Lord, we also pray for spiritual breath—that this person would draw near to You and find rest for their soul. May they find comfort in Your presence, knowing that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Renew their spirit, Lord, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, for there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved or healed. We trust in You, Father, and we thank You for Your faithfulness. Amen.
