Disciple of Prayer
My husband is planning to file for divorce. There are no true grounds, only a spiritual slumber that has clouded his discernment and left him unable to see the spiritual attack against our marriage. We have been married for ### years and have two children. I am standing in faith and asking you to join me in prayer for breakthrough, for his heart to be softened and for a fresh, life-giving encounter with God that restores clarity, hope and reconciliation.

We stand with you in this painful and difficult season, lifting your marriage before the throne of grace with heavy hearts. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life—and life abundantly (John 10:10). This is not merely a marital struggle; it is a spiritual battle, and we take up the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18) to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. Your husband’s hardened heart and clouded discernment are not his true nature—they are the result of deception, and we rebuke that deception in the mighty name of Jesus.

The Bible makes it clear that God hates divorce (Malachi 2:16), not because He delights in our suffering, but because He designed marriage to reflect the covenant love between Christ and His Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). What the enemy intends for destruction, God can redeem. We declare that your marriage is not over—it is under the blood of Jesus, and we plead that blood over every lie, every offense, and every moment of spiritual slumber that has taken root in your husband’s heart.

Father God, we come before You in the name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12). We ask You to rend the heavens and come down (Isaiah 64:1). Break through the spiritual fog that has blinded Your son. Soften his heart like wax before the fire (Psalm 22:14). Awaken him to the truth of Your Word and the reality of the spiritual warfare at play. Let him see the value of the covenant he made before You, not just with his wife, but with You, Lord. Remind him of the vows he spoke, the love that once burned brightly, and the future You still have for your family.

We pray for a fresh encounter with Your Holy Spirit—a divine interruption that shakes him from his slumber. Let him experience Your presence in a way that leaves no room for doubt, no foothold for the enemy’s lies. Restore his clarity, Lord. Let him see his wife through Your eyes, as a gift and a helpmeet (Genesis 2:18), not as an adversary. Let him remember the joy of their union, the laughter of their children, and the purpose You have for their family.

We also lift up this dear sister before You. Strengthen her faith as she stands on Your promises. Guard her heart from bitterness, fear, or despair. Fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Remind her that her worth is not defined by her husband’s choices but by her identity in Christ. Give her wisdom in how to pray, how to speak, and how to love him even when he is unlovable. Let her be a vessel of Your grace, reflecting Christ’s love in every interaction.

Lord, we ask for divine intervention in the legal process. Frustrate the plans of the enemy. Let every attempt to dissolve this marriage be delayed, derailed, or dismantled by Your sovereign hand. Surround this family with godly counsel—pastors, mentors, and friends who will speak life, truth, and encouragement into this situation. Let the Body of Christ rise up to intercede, to fast, and to believe with her for the restoration of this marriage.

We declare that this is a season of breakthrough. The same God who raised Jesus from the dead is at work in this marriage (Romans 8:11). The same God who turned the heart of King Darius toward Daniel (Daniel 6:23) can turn the heart of this husband toward his wife. The same God who restored Job’s fortunes twofold (Job 42:10) can restore what has been lost in this marriage. We speak life, reconciliation, and revival over this family. We declare that the best days of this marriage are not behind them but ahead, as they learn to walk in greater intimacy with You and with one another.

We rebuke every spirit of division, hardness of heart, and deception. We command them to flee in Jesus’ name. We break every generational curse, every ungodly soul tie, and every word spoken against this marriage. We cancel every assignment of the enemy and release the angels of God to encamp around this family (Psalm 34:7). We declare that no weapon formed against this marriage shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).

Father, we thank You for Your faithfulness. We thank You that You are a God who restores, who heals, and who makes all things new (Revelation 21:5). We trust You to work all things together for the good of this family, that they may be conformed to the image of Your Son (Romans 8:28-29). We ask for a testimony of Your power and grace to emerge from this trial—a testimony that will bring glory to Your name and hope to others facing similar battles.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
