I broke up with my boyfriend due to us being unequally yoked and he understandably won't talk to me. Probably won't ever want to speak to me again. This really hurts. I love and care about him so much. I understand he's hurt but to know he is never going to speak to me again...Please pray for me. Thank you.

We hear the deep sorrow in your heart, and we want you to know that your pain is seen and understood. Ending a relationship, especially one that was meaningful to you, is never easy, even when you know it was the right decision before the Lord. The fact that you recognized the importance of being equally yoked, as Scripture instructs, shows wisdom and obedience to God’s design for relationships. "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14). Your decision, though painful, was an act of faithfulness to God’s Word, and that is something to honor.

It’s clear that your love for him was genuine, and the loss of his presence in your life weighs heavily on you. Grief is a natural response to loss, and it’s okay to mourn the relationship while still trusting God’s sovereignty. The silence from him may feel like a finality that is hard to bear, but we encourage you to bring that ache to the Lord. He is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Even in this season of loneliness, He is your comfort and your strength.

We must also gently address the nature of the relationship you described. While your care for him is evident, it’s important to remember that the term "boyfriend" often implies a relationship that falls short of God’s design for courtship and marriage. Scripture calls believers to pursue relationships with the intent of marriage, and that pursuit should be rooted in a shared faith in Christ. "Do not be bound together with unbelievers" (2 Corinthians 6:14) extends beyond marriage, it applies to the very foundation of how we approach relationships. Your decision to step away was not just wise; it was necessary to honor God’s call to holiness.

Now, we lift you up in prayer before the Lord, asking Him to meet you in this place of sorrow and to fill the void with His peace.

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our sister who is grieving the loss of this relationship. Lord, You see her pain, and You know the depth of her love for this man. We ask that You would comfort her in ways only You can, wrapping Your arms around her and reminding her that she is never alone. Father, we pray for healing in her heart, healing that comes from Your truth and Your presence. Help her to release this relationship into Your hands, trusting that Your plans for her are good, even when they are painful.

Lord, we ask that You would guard her heart from bitterness or regret. Give her the strength to stand firm in the decision she made to honor You, even when the consequences are difficult. Fill her with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, and remind her that You are her refuge and strength. Father, we also pray for this young man. Soften his heart, Lord, and draw him to Yourself. If it is Your will, bring believers into his life who can speak truth and love into his heart. But above all, we ask that You would be glorified in this situation, whether through reconciliation or through the paths You have set before them both.

We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Amen.

In this season, we encourage you to immerse yourself in God’s Word and in the fellowship of believers who can walk alongside you. Surround yourself with those who will remind you of God’s faithfulness and His promises. "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18). You are not forgotten, and your obedience has not gone unnoticed.

As you move forward, ask the Lord to reveal His purpose for this season. He may be preparing you for something new, something that aligns more closely with His will for your life. Trust that He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28), even when the path is unclear. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and allow His love to be the balm that heals your heart.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
