We come before the Lord with your request, seeking His divine guidance as you discern whether to remain on this board or step down. The weight of such a decision is not to be taken lightly, and we join you in asking for the Holy Spirit’s wisdom to illuminate your path. Scripture reminds us, *"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him"* (James 1:5 WEB). We believe God will honor your sincere heart in this matter.
Father, we lift up this decision before You, asking that You would make Your will unmistakably clear. Grant our brother/sister discernment to recognize whether this role aligns with Your purpose for their life. If it is Your will for them to stay, fill them with patience, kindness, and clarity to navigate challenges with grace. If it is time to step away, prepare their heart for the transition and open doors to the next season You have ordained. May every conversation, every meeting, and every moment of reflection be guided by Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
We also pray for protection over their heart and mind. Board positions can bring unique pressures—conflict, division, or even compromise of values. Guard them against discouragement, pride, or frustration. Let them walk in humility, remembering that *"whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men"* (Colossians 3:23 WEB). If there are ungodly influences or unethical expectations in this role, reveal them clearly so they may respond with biblical integrity.
Lord, we ask that You would use this time to refine their faith. Whether they stay or go, let this season be one of growth in dependence on You. Teach them to trust in Your timing, not their own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6). And if this board is not where You need them, close the door gently but firmly, redirecting them to the work You have prepared in advance for them to do (Ephesians 2:10).
Above all, we pray that their decision would bring glory to Your name. May their actions reflect Christ’s love and truth, drawing others to You. Strengthen them with courage to follow Your leading, even when it’s difficult. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
