We lift this heavy burden to the Lord with hearts full of compassion and faith. The fear and uncertainty your fiancé is facing are very real, and we stand with you both in this moment, trusting in God’s sovereignty and healing power. The sudden change from a video visit to an in-person appointment can feel alarming, but we know that God is in control of every detail, even when the path seems unclear.
First, we rebuke the spirit of fear in the name of Jesus Christ. The Bible tells us in 2 Timothy 1:7, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." Fear does not come from God, and we command it to flee from your fiancé’s heart. We also declare that his mind and emotions would be steadied by the peace of Christ, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
We pray for wisdom and clarity for the medical team as they review his results. May God grant them insight and discernment to provide the best care possible. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." We trust that God will guide every step of this process, whether the news is difficult or a cause for celebration.
We also want to gently address the mention of your fiancé in this context. As believers, we are called to honor God in all areas of our lives, including our relationships. The Bible is clear that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, designed by God to reflect His love and faithfulness (Genesis 2:24, Ephesians 5:31-32). If you and your fiancé are not yet married, we encourage you both to seek God’s will for your relationship and to honor Him by pursuing purity and holiness. Sexual intimacy is a gift reserved for marriage alone (Hebrews 13:4), and we pray that you both would walk in obedience to God’s design, trusting Him to bless your union in His perfect timing.
If you or your fiancé have not yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to consider the gravity of this decision. The Bible tells us in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" Jesus Christ is the only way to the Father, and it is only through His name that we can approach God in prayer. If you have not surrendered your life to Him, we encourage you to do so today, confessing your sins and inviting Him to be the Lord of your life.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear brother and his fiancée. Lord, we ask that You would calm their fears and fill them with Your perfect peace. We rebuke the spirit of fear in the name of Jesus and declare that Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, would guard their hearts and minds. Father, we ask for wisdom and clarity for the medical team as they review these results. Give them discernment and guide their hands and minds to provide the best care possible.
Lord, we also pray for this couple’s relationship. If they are not yet married, we ask that You would help them to honor You in their courtship, pursuing purity and holiness as they prepare for marriage. May their relationship be a reflection of Your love and grace, and may they seek You first in all things. If there are areas where they have strayed from Your will, we ask for Your forgiveness and restoration.
Father, we trust in Your goodness and sovereignty. Whether the news is difficult or a cause for rejoicing, we know that You are with them. Strengthen their faith and help them to lean on You in every moment. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
