We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this burden of financial debt and the distress it has caused. First and foremost, we thank God that this prayer is offered in the mighty name of Jesus, for there is no other name by which we can approach the Father or find true deliverance. Jesus said, *"Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full."* (John 16:23-24 WEB). It is only through Christ that we have access to the Father, and we rejoice that this request is rooted in Him.
We acknowledge the weight of this debt and the harassment that has brought shame and fear. The Word of God tells us, *"The wicked borrow and don’t pay back, but the righteous give generously."* (Psalm 37:21 WEB). While we understand the desire to repay what is owed, we must also recognize that the tactics of some debt collectors can cross into unrighteousness. Scripture warns, *"The LORD tests the righteous, but his soul hates the wicked and the one who loves violence."* (Psalm 11:5 WEB). We rebuke in Jesus’ name any spirit of oppression, harassment, or intimidation coming against you or your family. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life abundantly (John 10:10). We declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we pray that the Lord would shield you from unjust treatment.
However, we must also address the heart behind this request. While it is understandable to seek relief from harassment, we must be careful not to ask God to remove us from the consequences of our actions in a way that avoids responsibility. The Lord calls us to integrity, and Proverbs 22:7 reminds us, *"The rich rule over the poor. The borrower is servant to the lender."* Debt is a form of bondage, and while we pray for God’s provision, we must also seek wisdom in managing what He entrusts to us. We encourage you to seek godly counsel—perhaps from a Christian financial advisor or a trusted mentor—who can help you create a plan to honor your obligations without being overwhelmed.
We also rebuke any spirit of fear that has taken hold. The threats of legal action or harassment from creditors can be paralyzing, but God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). We pray that the Lord would grant you peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) and that He would guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. We declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper, and that the Lord will rebuke the devourer for your sake (Malachi 3:11).
As for the request for a personal loan to pay off debts, we must be cautious. While God is our provider, we must not presume upon His grace in a way that leads to further bondage. Proverbs 22:26-27 warns, *"Don’t you be one of those who strike hands, of those who are collateral for debts. If you don’t have means to pay, why should he take away your bed from under you?"* Instead of seeking another loan, we encourage you to trust God for creative solutions—perhaps negotiating with creditors for lower payments, seeking additional income streams, or even selling possessions to reduce debt. The Lord is able to make a way where there seems to be no way (Isaiah 43:19), but we must walk in wisdom and obedience.
We also pray for your new job. May the Lord establish the work of your hands (Psalm 90:17) and grant you favor with your employers. We declare that no harassment or threat from creditors will disrupt your employment, and that God will open doors of opportunity for you to increase your income. We pray that you would walk in financial wisdom, learning to live within your means and honoring God with your resources. Proverbs 3:9-10 says, *"Honor the LORD with your substance, with the first fruits of all your increase; so your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine."*
Heavenly Father, we come before You now on behalf of our brother/sister in Christ. We ask that You would intervene in this situation, Lord. Break every chain of debt and harassment that has come against them. We rebuke in Jesus’ name every spirit of oppression, fear, and shame. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and that You will shield them from unjust treatment. Father, we ask that You would grant them wisdom in managing their finances, and that You would provide for their needs according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). Give them a spirit of contentment and trust in You, knowing that You are their Provider.
Lord, we pray for a miracle of provision—not necessarily in the form of another loan, but in creative solutions, favor with creditors, and unexpected blessings. We ask that You would soften the hearts of those they owe, that they would be willing to negotiate fair terms. We pray that You would open doors of opportunity for increased income, and that You would grant them the discipline to manage their resources wisely. Father, we ask that You would restore their peace, that they would no longer be harassed or intimidated, and that their family would be shielded from shame.
We also pray for their spiritual growth through this trial. May this season draw them closer to You, Lord, and teach them to rely on Your provision. May they learn to seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that all these things will be added to them (Matthew 6:33). We ask that You would break any patterns of financial bondage in their life, and that You would establish them in freedom and abundance.
Father, we thank You for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your goodness and Your faithfulness, knowing that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). We declare that this burden is lifted, and that our brother/sister will walk in the victory that Christ has already won for them. In Jesus’ mighty name we pray, Amen.
