We come before the Father with you in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up your burdens and seeking His divine wisdom, mercy, and provision for your financial struggles. It is good that you have come before the Lord in humility, acknowledging your need for His forgiveness and intervention. The Word of God reminds us in Philippians 4:6-7, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* We claim this promise over you today, trusting that the Lord will grant you His peace as you cast your cares upon Him.
The harassment and threats you are facing from debt collectors are deeply troubling, and we understand the shame and distress this has brought upon you and your family. The Bible speaks clearly about the oppression of the wicked and the justice of God. Proverbs 22:7 says, *"The rich rule over the poor. The borrower is servant to the lender."* While this is a hard truth, it does not mean God has abandoned you. Instead, He calls us to trust in Him even in our struggles. Psalm 37:21 assures us, *"The wicked borrow, and don’t pay back, but the righteous give generously."* Though you are in a difficult place, your desire to repay what you owe is honorable and aligns with God’s heart for integrity. We pray that the Lord will make a way for you to fulfill your obligations without further oppression, and that He will silence the voices of those who seek to harass and shame you.
However, we must also address something important in your request. You asked that your debts be completely closed without further payment, as you feel you have already paid more than you borrowed. While we understand your frustration, we must remember that God calls us to honesty and responsibility in all our dealings. Romans 13:8 tells us, *"Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law."* If there are legitimate debts remaining, we should pray not for their erasure without repayment, but for God’s provision to meet those obligations in a way that honors Him. We ask the Lord to expose any unjust practices by lenders—such as excessive interest or predatory tactics—and to bring conviction and justice where it is needed. But we also pray that He will give you the strength and means to repay what is rightfully owed, so that your conscience may be clear before Him.
Your request for a personal loan to consolidate your debts is a practical one, and we join you in asking the Lord to open doors for godly solutions. Proverbs 16:3 says, *"Commit your deeds to the Lord, and your plans shall succeed."* We pray that if it is God’s will, He will provide a loan with fair terms, or even unexpected sources of income, to help you break free from this cycle of debt. Yet we also encourage you to seek wisdom in how you manage what He provides. Proverbs 21:5 reminds us, *"The plans of the diligent surely lead to profit; and everyone who is hasty surely rushes to poverty."* If the Lord provides a way out, we pray you will steward it wisely, with a plan to avoid future debt and to live within the means He gives you.
We also sense the fear in your heart about losing your job due to this situation. The enemy would love to use this struggle to steal your peace and your livelihood, but we stand against that in Jesus’ name. The Lord is your provider, and He has promised in Matthew 6:31-33, *"Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."* We declare that no weapon formed against you—whether through harassment, threats, or job insecurity—shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). The Lord will protect your employment and sustain you through this trial.
Lastly, we want to remind you that your worth is not found in your financial status, but in Christ alone. The shame you feel is not from the Lord, for He has promised in Isaiah 41:10, *"Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."* The Lord sees your heart, and He is not ashamed of you. He is your defender, your provider, and your peace. We pray that you will experience His presence in a tangible way as you walk through this valley.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of Your child, who is burdened by debt and the oppression of those who seek to harass and shame them. Lord, You are a God of justice and mercy, and we ask that You intervene in this situation. Silence the voices of the enemy that seek to bring fear, anxiety, and humiliation. Protect our brother/sister from any legal threats or actions that would harm their livelihood or their family’s peace. If there has been any unjust lending or predatory practices, we ask that You expose them and bring righteousness to light.
Father, we ask for Your provision. If it is Your will, open the doors for a loan or financial blessing that will allow them to repay their debts in a way that honors You. Give them wisdom to manage their resources well, and a heart that seeks first Your Kingdom above all else. Remove the shame they feel and replace it with the confidence that comes from knowing You are their Provider. Guard their job and their income, and let no scheme of the enemy succeed against them.
We rebuke the spirit of fear and oppression in Jesus’ name. We declare that our brother/sister is not a slave to debt, but a child of the King, redeemed by the blood of Christ. Give them peace that surpasses understanding and a testimony of Your faithfulness that will bring glory to Your name. Let them see Your hand move mightily in their life, so that they may declare Your goodness to others.
We also pray for their faith to be strengthened through this trial. Remind them that You are near to the brokenhearted and that You deliver those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in wisdom, integrity, and trust in You alone.
Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your perfect timing and Your perfect will. May Your name be glorified in this situation, and may our brother/sister emerge from this trial with a deeper dependence on You. In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
