Blessings to overcome Financial debt

Roshan Dsouza

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, I come before you in the name of Jesus, asking for your forgiveness of all my sins and blessings. I am burdened with a debt and I am being harassed by calls and visits from the banks, which has brought shame to my family. Lord, I ask for your divine intervention and a miracle, so that debt collections agencies close my accounts completely and I will no longer need to make payments, as I have already paid them more than I borrowed. I am also receiving threats from the banks, warning of legal actions and that they will contact my friends and family to harass them. Additionally, I owe money with interest. My desire is to repay everyone. If these people continue to harass me or my contacts, it could jeopardize my new job and leave me unemployed again. Lord I ask for your intervention to stop harassment and repeated calls from every debt collection agency and individual to whom I have to repay to me, my family and friends, as their presence disrupts our peace. Jesus, please help that no one visit my home to whom I have to pay else that will create a huge problem. Please hear my prayer and grant me peace and resolution. Lord, I ask for your miracle and intervention by granting me a personal loan and I get the same without any hassle as it will help me to pay off all my debts. I ask this in Jesus name. Praise the Lord. Amen.

We join you in lifting up your burdens to the Lord, knowing that He is a God of justice, mercy, and provision. Your heart’s desire to repay what you owe is honorable, and we commend you for seeking the Lord’s intervention rather than turning away from your responsibilities. The Scripture reminds us in **Romans 13:8**, *"Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law."* Your willingness to repay aligns with God’s Word, and we trust He will make a way for you.

However, we must gently address something in your prayer. While it is understandable to desire relief from the harassment and pressure of debt collectors, asking the Lord to *completely close your accounts so you no longer need to make payments*—especially when you acknowledge that you still owe—is not aligned with biblical integrity. **Psalm 37:21** tells us, *"The wicked borrow, and don’t pay back, but the righteous give generously."* We must always seek to honor our commitments, even in hardship. Instead of praying for the debt to vanish without fulfillment, let us pray for God’s provision so you can repay *in full*, for His glory and your testimony.

The harassment you are facing is unjust, and we will certainly pray against it. The Lord sees your struggle, and **Exodus 22:25-27** warns against oppressing those in debt: *"If you lend money to any of my people with you who is poor, you shall not be to him as a creditor. You shall not charge him interest. If you take your neighbor’s garment as collateral, you shall restore it to him before the sun goes down, for that is his only covering, it is his garment for his skin. In what shall he sleep? It will happen, when he cries to me, that I will hear, for I am gracious."* The Lord hears your cry, and He will act on your behalf. Trust that He will either restrain the creditors or provide the means for you to settle what you owe without further oppression.

As for your request for a personal loan, we pray that if it is God’s will, He will open the right door—*without* leading you into further bondage. **Proverbs 22:7** warns, *"The rich rule over the poor. The borrower is servant to the lender."* We ask the Lord to grant you wisdom so that any solution He provides does not place you in a worse position later. Perhaps He will lead you to a godly counselor, a debt consolidation plan with fair terms, or even an unexpected source of income. **Philippians 4:19** assures us, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."*

Let us also remind you that your worth is not found in your financial status but in Christ alone. The shame you feel is not from the Lord—**Isaiah 54:4** says, *"Don’t be afraid, for you will not be ashamed. Don’t be confounded, for you will not be disappointed."* The enemy seeks to weigh you down with condemnation, but Jesus has already borne your shame on the cross. Stand firm in His love and trust that He is working all things for your good (**Romans 8:28**).

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who is burdened by debt and the relentless pressure of creditors. Lord, You see the harassment, the threats, and the shame they are enduring. We ask You to intervene supernaturally—*not* to remove the debt unjustly, but to provide the *means* to repay it in a way that honors You. Father, rebuke the oppressive tactics of these collectors. Shut the mouths of those who seek to humiliate or threaten. Let no weapon formed against them prosper (**Isaiah 54:17**), and let no harm come to their job, reputation, or family.

Lord, if a personal loan is the right path, open the door *without* hidden snares or excessive interest. But if there is a better way—whether through increased income, unexpected blessings, or wise counsel—lead them clearly. Give them favor with those they owe, that negotiations may be fair and merciful. Remind them daily that You are their Provider, and that man cannot ultimately control their destiny—only You can.

We also pray for their peace of mind. Cast out every spirit of fear, anxiety, and shame. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in confidence, knowing You are fighting for them (**Exodus 14:14**). Let this trial be a testimony of Your faithfulness, that others may see and glorify Your name.

Finally, Father, we ask that You teach them Your ways regarding stewardship. Show them how to manage resources wisely moving forward, so that debt does not become a recurring bondage. May they grow in generosity, even in lack, trusting that You multiply what is given in faith (**2 Corinthians 9:6-8**).

We declare all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who broke the power of lack and shame on the cross. Let Your will be done, and let Your glory shine through this situation. Amen.

Stand firm in faith, dear one. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted (**Psalm 34:18**), and He will not abandon you. Keep seeking Him, and let this season draw you closer to His heart. If you have not already, consider reaching out to a biblically grounded financial counselor or your church for practical support. You are not alone in this.

Dear friend, we're right there with you, lifting your financial burden to the Lord. We're inspired by your heart's desire to repay what you owe, and we trust that God will make a way for you, just as He promises in Psalm 50:15, "Offer to God thanksgiving, and pay your vows to the Most High." We know that He is faithful and will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear, but will provide a way out so that you can endure it (1 Corinthians 10:13).

We want to encourage you with these words from Matthew 6:25-26, "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?"

We also want to remind you that God sees your struggle, and He is gracious and merciful (Psalm 145:8-9). He hears your cries, and He will act on your behalf (Psalm 34:17-18).

Let's pray together:
