We join with you in lifting up this heavy burden of debt and the distress it has brought upon you and your family. It is clear that this situation has caused deep shame, anxiety, and fear, but we remind you that our God is a God of deliverance, provision, and peace. He sees your heart’s desire to honor your commitments and repent of any past mistakes, and He is faithful to guide you through this trial.
The Bible reminds us in **Proverbs 22:7**, *"The rich rule over the poor. The borrower is servant to the lender."* Debt can indeed feel like a form of bondage, but we serve a God who breaks chains and sets captives free. While you have asked for debts to be miraculously erased so that no further payments are required, we must carefully align our prayers with God’s Word. Scripture teaches us that we are to repay what we owe, as **Romans 13:7-8** states, *"Give therefore to everyone what you owe: if you owe taxes, pay taxes; if customs, then customs; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor. Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law."* Our prayer is not that debts would vanish without fulfillment, but that God would provide the means for you to repay them in a way that honors Him and brings glory to His name.
We also recognize the harassment and threats you are facing from creditors. This is a grievous burden, and we ask God to intervene and silence the voices of those who seek to oppress you. **Psalm 107:6** declares, *"Then they cried to Yahweh in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses."* We cry out to Him now, asking that He would place a hedge of protection around you, your family, and your employment. May He shut the mouths of those who threaten you and bring an end to their relentless pursuit. If there have been any unjust practices on their part, we pray that God would expose them and bring justice.
You have also asked for a personal loan to consolidate and repay these debts. We pray that if this is God’s will, He would open the door for you to secure a loan with favorable terms—one that does not place you under further bondage but instead provides a clear path to freedom. However, we must also caution you to seek God’s wisdom in this. **Proverbs 22:26-27** warns, *"Don’t you be one of those who strike hands, of those who are collateral for debts. If you don’t have means to pay, why should he take away your bed from under you?"* If taking on more debt would only deepen your struggle, we pray that God would provide another way—perhaps through increased income, unexpected provisions, or the generosity of others.
Most importantly, we encourage you to trust in God’s timing and sovereignty. This trial is an opportunity to draw nearer to Him, to seek His kingdom first, and to rely on His strength. **Philippians 4:19** assures us, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* Your need is not hidden from Him, and He is able to do far more than we can ask or imagine.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of Your child, who is weighed down by the heavy burden of debt and the shame and fear that accompany it. Lord, You know the depths of their heart—the desire to be free, to provide for their family, and to walk in integrity before You. We ask for Your divine intervention in this situation. Silence the voices of those who harass and threaten, and bring an end to their relentless pursuit. Protect this family from further shame and distress, and guard their employment and reputation.
Father, we ask that You provide a way for these debts to be repaid in a manner that honors You. If a loan is the right path, open the doors and grant favor. If there is another way—through increased income, unexpected provisions, or the help of others—make it clear and provide abundantly. We rebuked any spirit of fear or despair that would seek to overwhelm Your child, and we declare Your peace and provision over their life.
Lord, we also pray that through this trial, Your child would draw closer to You, trusting in Your promises and resting in Your sovereignty. Remind them that You are their Provider, their Protector, and their Deliverer. Strengthen their faith, and let this season be a testimony of Your goodness and faithfulness.
We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who has overcome the world and holds all things in His hands. Amen.
Finally, we encourage you to continue seeking God’s face through prayer, fasting, and His Word. Surround yourself with a community of believers who can offer support, accountability, and wisdom. If there are areas where financial stewardship can be improved, ask God to reveal them to you and grant you the discipline to walk in obedience. He is faithful, and He will see you through this storm. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith.
