🙇🏻 Forgetting what lies behind and Moving Forward towards what is ahead, Phil 3:13-14, Protection… I Need Help…

Jesus, thank You for saying, "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted," Mt 5:4. Thank You The Spirit of The LORD still binds up the brokenhearted, Isa 61:1. Asking You do me a favor -- Keep me from those who profess to know God but by their deeds deny him, Tit 1:16, have a form of Godliness but deny its power, help me avoid such people as this, 2Tim3:5. Heal my heart, Isa 61:1, and mind, Isa 1:5-6 and show Yourself strong, 2 Chron 16:9. Help me forget the things that are behind (in a healthy way) in order to move ahead, Phil 3:13, even toward the upward call, Phil 3:14. Give me wisdom Col 4:12, and direction Prov 3:5-6, to know, Col 1:9, submit to and do Your will as Jesus did in the Garden, Mt26:39, Mk14:36, Lk22:42.

Jesus, You said "My sheep hear my voice" Jn 10:27. Lead me by The Holy Spirit through any and every means to know, submit to and DO Your will, Rom 8:14. Keep me from lies, sin, Zeph 3:13, evil people and imposters, 2Thes 3:2, 2Tim 3:14, temptation, Lk 11:4, temptation and the evil one, Mt6:13, again, and the evil one, Jn 17:5, Jn8:44, Rev12:9, Rev 12:12, Rev 12:17. Thank you in Jesus’ Name.

We hear your cry from the depths of mourning and recognize the weight of grief you carry. The Lord indeed promises comfort to those who mourn, for He is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We stand with you in this season, lifting your heart and mind before the Father, who binds up wounds and revives the weary.

Your request reveals a deep hunger for godly wisdom and discernment, and we praise God for this desire. The Scripture says, "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him" (James 1:5). We pray that the Holy Spirit would fill you with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, as you’ve asked, so that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him (Colossians 1:9-10).

Yet we must also speak truth in love about the dangers you’ve mentioned, those who profess to know God but deny Him by their deeds. The Word warns us sharply: "They profess to know God, but by their deeds they deny Him, being detestable, disobedient, and unfit for any good work" (Titus 1:16). These are not merely people to avoid; they are snares to the soul. We rebuke the spirit of deception that seeks to draw you into false comfort or empty religion. The Lord calls you to walk in the light, not in the shadows of counterfeit faith. Guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life (Proverbs 4:23).

You’ve asked the Lord to help you forget what lies behind and press on toward what is ahead. This is a holy pursuit, for the apostle Paul declares, "But one thing I do: forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 3:13-14). Yet we must caution you, this is not about suppressing pain or pretending the past didn’t happen. True healing comes from bringing your wounds to the cross, where Jesus bore your sorrows (Isaiah 53:4-5). Do not rush the process, but allow the Comforter to minister to you as you grieve. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted, and He will not leave you in despair.

You’ve rightly acknowledged Jesus as the Good Shepherd, whose sheep hear His voice (John 10:27). We rejoice in your desire to be led by the Holy Spirit, for those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God (Romans 8:14). But let us also warn you, there are many voices in this world, and not all are from the Lord. Test every spirit to see whether it is from God (1 John 4:1). The enemy prowls like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour (1 Peter 5:8), and he will use lies, temptation, and even well-meaning people to lead you astray. Stand firm in the truth of God’s Word, and do not be swayed by smooth talk or empty promises.

We also notice your prayer for protection from evil people, imposters, and the evil one. The Lord is your refuge and fortress (Psalm 91:2), and we pray that He would surround you with His angels to guard you in all your ways (Psalm 91:11). But we must remind you, spiritual warfare is real, and you must put on the full armor of God daily (Ephesians 6:11). The belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, these are your weapons. Do not neglect them.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister in Christ, who is mourning and seeking Your face. Lord, You are the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from You (2 Corinthians 1:3-4). We ask that You would draw near to them in this season of grief. Bind up their broken heart, O Lord, and heal their wounds (Psalm 147:3). Let them feel Your presence like a warm embrace, reminding them that You are their ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).

Father, we pray for wisdom and discernment to flood their mind and spirit. Fill them with the knowledge of Your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, so that they may walk in a manner worthy of You, fully pleasing You in every good work (Colossians 1:9-10). Give them the courage to turn away from those who deny You by their deeds, and surround them with godly counsel and fellowship. Protect them from the snares of the enemy, who seeks to deceive and destroy.

Lord, we ask that You would help them to process their grief in a way that honors You. Do not let them suppress their pain, but bring it to the foot of the cross, where Jesus bore their sorrows. Help them to forget what lies behind, not by ignoring it, but by surrendering it to You, and to press on toward the upward call in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:13-14). Let them hear Your voice clearly, Lord, and follow You wholeheartedly. Guard their heart and mind from the lies of the enemy, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

We rebuke every spirit of despair, deception, and discouragement that seeks to take root in their life. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, they shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). We pray for Your protection over them, Lord, and ask that You would send Your angels to encamp around them (Psalm 34:7). Keep them from temptation and deliver them from the evil one (Matthew 6:13).

Father, we thank You for the work You are doing in their life. Even in the midst of mourning, we trust that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28). Strengthen them with Your might, and let them run with endurance the race that is set before them, looking to Jesus, the author and finisher of their faith (Hebrews 12:1-2). May they find rest in You, for You have promised that Your yoke is easy and Your burden is light (Matthew 11:28-30).

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone has the power to save, heal, and deliver. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in His Word, for it is a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105). Spend time in prayer, not just asking for things, but listening for His voice. Surround yourself with believers who will speak truth into your life and hold you accountable. And remember, healing is a journey, do not rush it, but trust that the Lord is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6). You are not alone, and the God of all comfort is with you.

We’ve been holding your request close to our hearts and praying for you. It’s clear you’re carrying a heavy burden right now, but remember that Jesus promised to be near to those who mourn. He doesn’t turn away from our tears, He catches every one of them. Let Him meet you in this place of sorrow and begin to heal the broken places one step at a time.

It’s hard when we see people who claim to know God but don’t live like it. That kind of contradiction can leave us feeling confused and hurt. But you’re wise to ask for protection from that. The enemy loves to twist truth into something it’s not, so keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the One who never changes. His Word is a lamp to guide your path, and His Spirit will give you the discernment you need to walk in the light.

Moving forward won’t mean forgetting the past in a way that leaves you empty. True healing comes when we bring those wounds to the cross and let Jesus bear them with us. You don’t have to rush this. The Lord is tender with His children, especially when they’re weary. He’ll carry you when the road feels too long.

We pray that you’d feel His presence so deeply right now, that He’d wrap His arms around you and remind you that you’re loved more than you know. Ask Him to give you the strength to let go of what’s holding you back and to press on toward the hope He’s placed before you. The race isn’t over yet, and He’s cheering you on every step of the way.

Father, we ask that You would draw near to our dear friend in this season. Bind up their wounds, heal their heart, and fill them with Your peace. Give them wisdom to discern truth from deception and courage to walk in the light of Your Word. Guard their heart and mind from the lies of the enemy, and surround them with Your unfailing love. Lead them forward by Your Spirit, and help them to trust that You are working all things together for their good. Strengthen them with Your might, and remind them that they are never alone. In Jesus’ name, we pray.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
