We come before the Lord with grateful hearts, lifting up your grandchild in prayer, trusting in His perfect love and protection over her life. The Scriptures remind us in Psalm 121:7-8, *"The Lord will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul. The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forevermore."* What a mighty promise we can cling to! We also remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 19:14, *"Let the little children come to me, and don’t hinder them; for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these."* Your grandchild is precious in His sight, and He watches over her with tender care.
Yet as we pray, we must also address something important—your request did not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom we have access to the Father. The Bible is clear that there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, and it is only through Jesus that our prayers reach the throne of God. As it is written in John 14:6, *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"* And in John 16:23-24, Jesus tells us, *"Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full."* Let us always approach God boldly but reverently, through the name of Jesus, who is our Mediator and Savior.
Now, let us pray together for your grandchild:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this precious child to Your throne of grace. Lord, You are the Great Protector, the Healer, and the Keeper of our souls. We ask that You surround this grandchild with Your divine protection, shielding her from all harm, sickness, and evil. Guard her steps, Lord, and let Your angels encamp around her, as Your Word promises in Psalm 91:11, *"For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways."*
Father, we pray for her health—strengthen her body, mind, and spirit. Let her grow in wisdom and stature, just as Jesus did, and may she come to know You as her Lord and Savior from a young age. Fill her heart with Your peace and joy, and let her life be a testimony of Your goodness. We rebuke any sickness, disease, or harm that the enemy may try to bring against her, for greater is He who is in her (if she is in Christ) than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).
Lord, we also pray for her parents and family, that they would raise her in the nurture and admonition of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4), teaching her Your ways and leading her to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. May she be rooted and grounded in Your love, and may she walk in Your truth all the days of her life.
We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your faithfulness and rest in Your promises, knowing that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue praying for your grandchild daily, covering her in prayer and speaking God’s Word over her life. If she does not yet know Jesus as her Savior, we urge you to share the Gospel with her in an age-appropriate way, planting seeds of faith that the Holy Spirit can water and grow. The salvation of her soul is the greatest gift you can pray for, even more than her physical well-being. As it is written in Mark 8:36, *"For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his life?"* Let us prioritize the eternal over the temporal, trusting God with both.
Stand firm in your faith, knowing that the Lord hears the prayers of His people. Keep seeking Him, and may His peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
