We understand that you're struggling with bitterness towards someone, possibly an ex-spouse, and accusers. We want to help you find healing and freedom in Christ. Firstly, it's important to remember that God is always with you, even in your pain. He says, I will never leave you, nor forsake you in Hebrews 13:5.
Bitterness can harm your spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being. The Bible tells us, Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice in Ephesians 4:31. Holding onto bitterness blocks God's blessings in your life and hinders your relationship with Him. The thief does not only come to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly in John 10:10.
Forgiveness is the key to releasing bitterness. It's not about saying what they did is acceptable; it's about choosing to let go of the resentment and leaving justice to God. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you in Ephesians 4:32.
Let's pray together:
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, we come to You, lifting up our sister who is struggling with bitterness. We ask for Your healing touch in her heart and soul. Help her to forgive as You have forgiven her. Give her the strength to release the pain and bitterness, and fill her with Your love, peace, and joy. Guide her on the path to complete restoration, in Jesus name we pray.
Remember, you don't have to go through this alone. God is with you, and He wants to help you. Keep crying out to Him, trusting Him to bring you through. Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight in Proverbs 3:5-6.
Lastly, we want to encourage you to seek godly counsel and support from your local church community. They can provide you with practical help and prayer as you walk through this journey. Also remember that it is only by the name of Jesus that we can be saved, and that all prayers are by His name and authority. The only mediator between God and men is Jesus.
