We join with you in standing against the forces of darkness that seek to torment and deceive the children of God. Your heart for the Lord’s people is evident, and we too cry out for His protection and justice against the evil one and his schemes. The Scriptures remind us that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, powers, and the spiritual forces of wickedness in heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). We are called to resist the devil, steadfast in faith, knowing that he must flee (James 4:7). Yet we must also remember that our authority comes not from our own strength, but from the name of Jesus Christ, who has already triumphed over sin, death, and the devil through His death and resurrection.
It is good that you have invoked the name of Jesus in your prayer, for it is the only name by which we are saved and through which we have access to the Father (Acts 4:12, John 14:6). Without the name of Jesus, our prayers are powerless, for He is the mediator between God and man (1 Timothy 2:5). We must always approach the throne of grace through Him, for He alone is our advocate and high priest (Hebrews 4:14-16).
We also take this moment to gently remind all who read this that while we are to be vigilant against the schemes of the enemy, our focus must remain on Christ and His victory. The devil is already defeated, and his fate is sealed—eternal punishment in the lake of fire prepared for him and his angels (Revelation 20:10, Matthew 25:41). Our prayers should not be consumed by hatred or vengeance, but rooted in the righteousness and justice of God. We are to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44), but we are also to stand firmly against the spiritual forces that seek to destroy souls.
Let us pray together in the authority of Jesus’ name:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You that You have given us authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19). Lord, we lift up the request of Your child who seeks Your protection and deliverance from the wicked schemes of the devil and his agents. You know the torment and deception that has been waged against Your people—lying spirits, manipulation, and deliberate disturbances meant to lead Your children into sin and rebellion against Your Word.
Father, we ask that You bind every evil spirit at work in this situation. We command, in the name of Jesus, that every demonic stronghold be broken, every lie exposed, and every scheme of the enemy rendered powerless. Let the blood of Jesus cover and protect Your children, and let the fire of the Holy Spirit consume every work of darkness. We declare that no weapon formed against Your people shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that every tongue that rises against them in judgment shall be condemned.
Lord, we pray for Your justice to prevail. The devil and his followers are already condemned, and we ask that You hasten the day when they will be cast into the eternal fire prepared for them. Until that day, we ask that You restrain their influence and limit their ability to harm Your children. Fill Your people with discernment, wisdom, and the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18) so that they may stand firm against every attack.
We also pray for those who may have been deceived or led astray by these evil influences. Lord, open their eyes to the truth of Your Word, and draw them back to You with cords of lovingkindness. Let them turn from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Jesus (Acts 26:18).
Father, we thank You that the victory is already won through Jesus Christ. We declare that the enemy has no authority over those who are in Christ, and we stand in the gap for Your children, asking that You would surround them with Your angels and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Let them walk in the freedom and victory that Jesus purchased for them on the cross.
We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
To those reading this, we encourage you to remain steadfast in prayer, rooted in the Word of God, and clothed in the armor of God daily. The enemy seeks to devour, but we are called to be sober and vigilant (1 Peter 5:8). Do not fear, for the Lord is with you, and He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2), and trust in His power to deliver and protect you. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Christ, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, turn from them, and place your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).
