Jesus said,"You have become judges rendering wicked decisions."I see people making unfair judgements on things all the time. So the question is, if you're biased towards someone, despite evidence to the contrary, or you "cover for" someone doing wrong, because they're "close to you" or you like them,is that a sin?Have you ever seen one sinner cover for another?Like, there's a bunch of crude people doing wrong. One gets caught by the law for say, making sexual approachs to minors. The others, instead of being repulsed by it, they hope he gets off the hook, with statements like,"Hey, Joey, he's "good people'". We're plugging for him to get off."{Yeah, get off and continue in his lifestyle.}{But, no sympathy towards the victim, only towards their friend}.{In other words, they don't care who's right or wrong, their judgement is based on who they're closer to.Families do that a lot, there's someone into criminal activities, and when they get caught, instead of thinking, they did it to themselves, they try to get them off the hook, not caring at all if they do it to others,as long as THEIR family member is covered.{Selfishness?}So the question is, is "covering for someone" who does wrong, even lying to get them off the hook,or being biased towards them at the expense of others, is that a sin?I think so.
