We understand that you're seeking God's will in your relationship and want Him to take control. It's beautiful to see your trust in the Lord and your desire to align with His will. We stand with you in prayer.
Firstly, let's remember that God's will is for us to be holy and blameless. This is only possible by the name of Jesus. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. We need to examine our lives and our relationship first to make sure it is pleasing to God. We need to look at our behavior and see if it aligns with Ephesians 5:3, But sexual immorality, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not even be mentioned among you, as becomes saints;
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up our ### who seeks Your will in their relationship. We ask that You guide them in life and in this marriage. Show them the spouse You have chosen for them. We all need to examine ourselves to see if we are in the faith; examine yourselves. Or do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you unless you are reprobates? Show us Your will, bring us to Your standards. Let us not judge according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the spiritual man judges all things, yet he himself is judged by no one.
Help them to trust in You with all their heart, and lean not on their own understanding. In all their ways, may they acknowledge You, and You will make their paths straight.
Surround them with Godly influences, and help them to discern Your will for their life. Give them the strength to walk away from any relationship that does not honor You. Help them to remember 1 Corinthians 6:18, Flee sexual immorality! Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.
May they desire a spouse that is a true helpmeet, faithful to the Lord, lives in righteousness and that their marriage will bring You honor and glory.
We pray this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. It is only by His name that we can come to You, God. For there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.
As we pray for you to trust God's will and timing, it is important you are doing this in Jesus name and not just to God or Heavenly Father. We are to ask the Father in Jesus name. John 16:23-24, In that day you will ask me no questions. Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full.
Thank you for loving the Lord and desiring His will. Stay strong in your faith and keep your eyes on Jesus. Continue to trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
