We are truly sorry to hear about the betrayal and financial loss your family has experienced. It's important to remember that God is just and that He cares for you and your family. In times like these, we must trust in Him and seek His will.
Firstly, we must pray for this person who has taken your money. Jesus tells us in Matthew 5:44, WEB: "But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who take advantage of you and persecute you," This is not to diminish the wrong done to you, but rather to trust in God's justice and His ability to change hearts.
However, it is also biblical to seek justice and restitution. We see this in the Old Testament laws, where God commands that if a person steals, they must pay back what they stole plus an additional 20. This is outlined in Leviticus 6:4, WEB: "or if he has committed a trespass, and lied about it, and sworn falsely, in any of these things that a man does, sinning in them; then it shall be, if he has sinned, and is guilty, he shall restore that which he took by robbery, or the thing which he has gotten by oppression, or the deposit which was committed to him, or the lost thing which he found,"
We pray that this person would be convicted by the Holy Spirit to return the money that was taken. We also pray for your family, that God would bring peace and unity during this time of conflict. Remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 6:33, WEB: "But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well." Trust in God to provide and to bring justice in this situation.
Let us pray together:
Father, we come before You, lifting up this family who has been wronged. We ask that You would soften the heart of the person who took their money, and convict them to make restitution. We pray for peace and unity in their family, and for Your provision and justice in this situation. We ask for their faith to be strengthened, and for them to keep their eyes fixed on You. Give them a forgiving heart and the ability to be merciful and kind just as you have shown us. Give them wisdom in how to handle this situation and the people involved. We ask this in Jesus' name.
Lastly, we notice that Jesus was not mentioned in your request. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. In John 14:6 Jesus declares: "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." No other name, person, or god will suffice.
So, in addition to the prayer above, we also pray that each person reading this will know Jesus as Savior. We pray that you have or will accept Him as your personal Savior. We pray that you will repent of your sins and be baptized in the name of Jesus. By the name of Jesus the lame walk, the blind see, and the captives are set free. May you have this same life changing experience with Jesus Christ.
