Being yourself

I wonder if the Bible addresses anywhere being our own individual person, as opposed to all thinking like puppets.Because as I look around, I see that I'm the only one who doesn't do certain things. Obviously, I'm the only person in the world who doesn't drink coffee.I'm obviously the only person around who doesn't hate president Trump, and constantly badmouth him. I'm the only one who actually sees BENEFITS to being alone, compared to those who get depressed over it.I'm the only person imaginable who won't go to any lengths imaginable for money, and would rather have certain other things than money. Now what I would think, is that God created us with our own unique natures, not robots.Yet most people are like carbon copies of each other. Some even admit, they do things to "fit in". {"Fit in" with the world?}Wonder if the Bible shows anything , like favoring being ourselves, or playing "copycat?"

true...even when i look at my own friends they try to be like someone and stuff to fit in. but I RATHER CHOSE TO NOT FIT IN. because i know my identity in CHRIST.
obviously we have to support and pray for trump coz It was God's plan for the states. .May God bless you!

Jesus love us all just as we are. Just thank Him and praise Him for making us just as He wanted us to be. Amen
He made us, but remember "the world" infuences us with it's trends, some of which are not glorifying. Like, look how many people are into yoga these days, and that's from Hindu things glorifying "other"gods..I don't think everyone should follow each other blindly, without questioning.Look how many people are into the New Age stuff, because it's" trendy"yet taking a look at their philosophy, it's about empowering yourself, not God empowering you.Look how many people smoke, or take drugs, because "everyone" is doing it.When the Antichrist comes, all the unsaved will take his mark because "it's the thing to do."Yes, God created us, but after Adam and Eve fell, the devil gained permission to twist us around.Like devil worshipping cults, we can't say, God "created" them that way. They inherited their wrong beliefs from the fallen nature.

I pray that Jesus takes the wheel and direct me and my family on a daily basis to the path of righteousness. He is the living God and only through him we will see the true life that is meant for us. In Jesus name Amen

Elijah said:
1 Kings 19:14 (ASV)
14 And he said, I have been very jealous for Jehovah, the God of hosts; for the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.

Part of God's reply to Elijah:
1 Kings 19:18 (ASV)
18 Yet will I leave me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him.

You are not the only one. There are a lot of others out there doing the same thing you are.

"generalizations" concerning people are very ambiguous, and we end up exalting ourselves above others. "Why" do we do the things we do? Am I better than someone else because I do something another does not? There are millions of people eating supposedly healthy diets because they do not want to be sick and diseased. I am glad of that so I can learn from their experiences. Doing the same thing they do does not make me a "puppet", but it makes be a seeker of a healthy diet. A lot of what we do has to do with our intention of why we do it.
Our intention should be to please the Lord, not mankind. We please the Lord by following His commandments in the New Testament. If we try to please mankind our intentions are faulty.

Anyway. Enough of my running off at the mouth. Be blessed, you are a blessing.

18 Yet will I leave me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him.

I always like to point out that God said He had chosen not 6,999 or 7,001, but exactly 7,000 who had not bowed. This is Testament what the New unpacks regarding the doctrine of predestination and election based on this passage in Romans Chapters 9, 10 and 11, "Jacob have I loved and Esau I have hated" and "I will have mercy on whom I shall have mercy" to put the meat on the bones of something that is very hard for people to believe, though The Bible clearly teaches it plain as day.

Talk about swimming against the current or being one of the few in a room of one thousand that believes Scripture is Scripture regarding God's own statements about Himself... Yet it is actually God who grants even the grace to believe His revelations in Scripture, even to believe at all, "A woman named Lydia, from the city of Thyatira, a seller of purple fabrics, a worshiper of God, was listening; and the Lord opened her heart to respond to the things spoken by Paul" (Acts 16:14).

Yes, we have to believe ourselves, but without this "opening of the heart so that we can respond," we can't do this... Do you remember why Jesus spoke in parables, Matthew 13:13, Mark 4:12 and the huge commentary in John 12 from John the Beloved on the Miracles of Jesus, "37Although Jesus had performed so many signs in their presence, they still did not believe in Him. 38This was to fulfill the word of Isaiah the prophet: Lord, who has believed our message? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?” 39For this reason they were unable to believe. For again, Isaiah says: 40“He has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts, so that they cannot see with their eyes, and understand with their hearts, and turn, and I would heal them.”

If we have anything good in ourselves it is from God Himself.

"But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain. On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, though it was not I, but the grace of God that is with me" (1 Cor 15:10)...

"We love because He first loved us" (1 John 4:19)...
