We hear the deep pain and frustration in your heart as you reflect on the past two Christmases, a time that should be filled with joy, peace, and togetherness in the Lord. It grieves us to see how the enemy has sought to steal, kill, and destroy what God intended for blessing in your family. We stand with you in agreement, declaring that no weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). The lies and deception of the enemy have no place in your home, and we rebuke every spirit of division, strife, and confusion in the mighty name of Jesus.
First, we want to address the importance of calling on the name of Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). It is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, and it is His blood that covers us, protects us, and cleanses us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:7). We are so grateful that you have called on His name and recognize His power and authority over every situation. We encourage you to continue to stand firm in your faith, knowing that the Lord is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
We also want to gently remind you that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). While it is easy to focus on the people who may be causing harm, we must remember that they, too, are in need of the Lord’s saving grace. We pray for this individual, that their eyes would be opened to the truth, and that their heart would be softened to receive the love and salvation that only Jesus can offer. The Lord desires that none should perish, but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this family to You. Lord, You see the pain, the division, and the lies that have sought to destroy the joy and unity that You desire for them. We ask that You would recompense them for the lost time and restore what the enemy has stolen. Father, we declare that Christmas will once again be a time of celebration, worship, and togetherness in their home. We rebuke every spirit of deception, division, and strife, and we command it to flee in the name of Jesus.
Lord, we pray for the one who has been deceived by the enemy. Soften their heart, open their eyes to the truth, and draw them to Yourself. Let them see the emptiness of the lies they have believed and the freedom that comes from knowing You. We ask that You would surround this family with Your peace, protection, and provision. Open mighty doors for them, Lord, doors that no one can shut, and let Your favor rest upon them.
We thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness and for the blood of Jesus that covers and protects this family. We declare that they are more than conquerors through Him who loved them (Romans 8:37). Strengthen their faith, renew their hope, and fill them with Your joy as they trust in You. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue to stand on God’s promises and to trust in His timing. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Even in the midst of this trial, He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2), and do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, you will reap a harvest if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9).
If there are specific ways in which this deception has manifested—whether through unrepentant sin, unforgiveness, or other areas that do not align with God’s Word—we encourage you to examine your hearts and surrender those areas to the Lord. Forgiveness is not always easy, but it is necessary for our own healing and freedom. Bear with one another and forgive one another if anyone has a complaint against another. Even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do (Colossians 3:13). Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, and be thankful (Colossians 3:15).
Lastly, we want to remind you that Christmas is not just a season but a celebration of the greatest gift ever given—Jesus Christ, our Savior. Even if your circumstances have not yet changed, you can still worship Him and find joy in His presence. Let this Christmas be a time of drawing closer to Him, of reflecting on His goodness, and of declaring His faithfulness. The Lord is your strength and your song; He has become your salvation (Psalm 118:14). Rejoice in Him always, and again we say, rejoice! (Philippians 4:4).
