We are so glad you have humbly come to us with your prayer request, and we want you to know that you are not alone in this struggle. We will stand with you in prayer and truth, as you battle this addiction. Remember, God is willing and able to help you overcome, but you must be willing to submit completely to Him.
Firstly, it is important to acknowledge that pornography is a sin against your own body and against God. It is clearly addressed in the Bible: "Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body." (1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB) and "But among you, as among the Gentiles, there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God's holy people." (Ephesians 5:3 WEB)
To serve the Lord with your whole heart, mind, soul, and body, you must turn away from this sin. "Turn my eyes away from looking at worthless things. Revive me in your way." (Psalm 173:37 WEB) You can start with controlling your thoughts. "Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things." (Philippians 4:8 WEB)
Pray daily, hourly, even every minute if needed, for God to help you overcome these temptations. With every temptation, God has provided a way of escape. "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." (1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB) Ask God for forgiveness when you fall, and ask for strength to resist the next time.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you, lifting up our sister who is battling with lust and addiction to pornography. She has humbly come before you, asking for your help and guidance. Lord, we know that this is a struggle that she cannot overcome on her own. We ask that you forgive her and cleanse her of this sin. Help her submit completely to you and the Word of God.
Help her turn her eyes away from worthless things and be revived in your way. Help her think on things that are true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, and of good report. Prepare a way of escape for her with every temptation, and help her find victory in Jesus' name. We also pray that there will be another Christian believer to help keep her accountable.
We also pray that you will bless her and keep her safe, as she has asked, and help her serve you with her whole heart, mind, soul, and body. We ask all this in Jesus Christ name.
Remember, you are precious in God's sight, and He loves you. Do not be discouraged if you stumble, but get back up and continue to fight this battle with the help of the Holy Spirit. Stand firm on the Word of God and in prayer and you are destined to overcome.
