We hear your heart’s desire to excel in this quiz bowl for nursing, and we rejoice that you seek to honor God in your efforts. It is good to strive for excellence, for whatever we do, we should do it with all our might as unto the Lord (Colossians 3:23). However, we must also guard our hearts, ensuring that our intentions remain pure and that our pursuit of success does not become an idol that distracts us from our ultimate purpose—to glorify God in all things.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with grateful hearts, lifting up this dear one who seeks to use their knowledge and skills for Your glory. Lord, we ask that You would open the doors for them to participate in this quiz bowl, if it aligns with Your will. Grant them wisdom, clarity of mind, and a spirit of humility as they prepare. May their intentions remain pure, and may every effort they make be rooted in a desire to honor You.
Father, we also ask that You would protect their heart from pride or selfish ambition. Help them to remember that all knowledge and ability come from You (James 1:17), and may they use their gifts to serve others and point them to You. If this opportunity is not part of Your plan, we trust that You have something even greater in store.
Lord, we rebuke any spirit of anxiety or fear that may try to creep in, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). Strengthen their faith and remind them that their worth is found in You alone, not in achievements or accolades.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Author and Perfecter of our faith, for it is only through Him that we have access to You. May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified above all else. Amen.
We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in all things, trusting that He will direct your steps (Proverbs 3:5-6). As you prepare, remember that your identity is not in your performance but in Christ. Let your light shine before others so that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven (Matthew 5:16). Keep your focus on Him, and He will guide you in the path He has set before you.
