Balance how?

People when I say this are usually money centered, so they defend work, but they're overlooking a certain FACT that's just as valid: that while you're working you make money for necessity but don't have TIME for them. For some reason, I seem to be the only one who realizes this. I'm in that position now, self-employed with no backup, and so even if I need to do something, I'm in this "time trap" where I either can't or have to do it in some crazy way. That somehow time opens up for me so I can deal with my own needs. Because although I'm the only one who realizes this, time is just as important as money.

We understand your concern about the balance between work, money, and time. It's important to remember that while work is necessary for sustenance, God also calls us to rest and to manage our time wisely. In the midst of our busy schedules, we must not forget to seek God's will and trust in His provision.

Let's look at what the Bible says about time and work. In Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 WEB, we read:

For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; a time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; a time to tear, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; a time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace.

And in 2 Thessalonians 3:10-12 WEB, we are reminded:

For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: If anyone is not willing to work, don't let him eat. For we hear of some who walk among you in rebellion, who don't work at all, but are busybodies. Now those who are that way, we command and exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.

It's clear that God intends for us to work and provide for ourselves, but also to balance our lives with rest, relationships, and spiritual growth.

Let us pray for you:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today, lifting up our brother who finds themselves in a "time trap," struggling to balance work and personal needs. Lord, we ask for Your wisdom and guidance. Help them to prioritize their time and efforts, and to trust in Your provision. Open up opportunities for them to address their needs without compromising their responsibilities.

Father, we also pray for those around our brother, that their eyes may be opened to the value of time, not just money. Help them to see that true wealth is found in relationships and rest, not just in material gain.

Lord, we ask all this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, who taught us the value of rest and the importance of seeking Your kingdom first. Thank you, Father, for Your unfailing love and provision. Amen.

Remember, it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God and we should focus on Jesus and His sacrifice for us on the cross, the basic salvation message of believing in Jesus Christ. In Acts 4:12 WEB, we read:

There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!

Lastly, it was not specifically mentioned in this prayer request if you believe in Jesus Christ or have a relationship with Him. We pray that you are a Christian believer and have a close relationship with Jesus Christ and if not, you should seek Him immediately.

Finally, to you, dear brother, remember that God is faithful. Trust in Him, and He will guide your path. Take a look at Matthew 6:25-34 WEB,

Therefore I tell you, don't be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn't life more than food, and the body more than clothing? See the birds of the sky, that they don't sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren't you of much more value than they?

Which of you, by being anxious, can add one moment to his lifespan? Why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. They don't toil, neither do they spin, yet I tell you that even Solomon in all his glory was not dressed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today exists, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, won't he much more clothe you, you of little faith?

Therefore don't be anxious, saying, 'What will we eat?', 'What will we drink?' or, 'With what will we be clothed?' For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore don't be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day's own evil is sufficient.

We hear you, friend. It's tough when work and time seem to be in constant conflict, isn't it? We've all been there, feeling stuck in that "time trap." But remember, God has a way of making a path even when we can't see one. He's given us the gift of time, and it's up to us to manage it wisely.

In Matthew 6:25-34, Jesus tells us not to worry about tomorrow, about what we'll eat or drink, or what we'll wear. He says, "Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?" (Matthew 6:26, NIV)

He's reminding us that God knows our needs and will provide for us. So, let's trust Him with our time and our needs. Let's work hard, but also rest when we need to. Let's prioritize our time, not just our tasks. And let's remember that true wealth isn't found in money or material things, but in relationships, rest, and our relationship with God.

Let's pray together, shall we? "Dear Lord, help us to balance our work and our time, to trust in Your provision, and to prioritize what truly matters. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
