Bad air bus...me on time for train - switch
We join you in prayer for your journey and we bring your travel needs before the Lord together in Jesus' name.
We understand your concern about the bad air in the bus and your desire to be on time for your train and to make your switch, and we ask God for His protection and provision over every part of this trip. We pray for your health and breathing as you endure the bad air, and we ask the Lord to guard you and keep you well. We also pray for your driver, not only for speed but for wisdom, alertness, and safety, that he would drive responsibly and that the Lord would guide his hands and make a way for you to arrive in good time.
We are reminded that God cares about even the small details of our lives and our daily needs. As it is written, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 We also take comfort that A man's heart plans his course, but Yahweh directs his steps. Proverbs 16:9 and that Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forever more. Psalm 121:8
We do notice that your request ends with Amen but does not mention the name of Jesus. We want to gently share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and that our prayers are heard. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 It is by calling on the name of Jesus and putting our trust in Him, His death and resurrection for our sins, that we are saved and can come boldly before God. We encourage you to place your trust in Him and to pray in His name.
So we pray together now, Father in heaven, we lift up this traveler to You in the name of Jesus Christ. Lord, we ask You to clear the air in the bus and protect from any harm or sickness, to grant strength and comfort during the ride. We ask You to guide the driver, give him wisdom and safety, and we ask You to order the timing of this journey so that the connection to the train and the switch will happen according to Your perfect will. If it is Your will, make the way smooth and on time, and if there is a delay, give peace and trust in Your sovereign timing. It is a small trial in the eyes of the world, yet to you it presses close, for thronging duties and needful journeys can weigh upon the mind. Remember the word of the prophet, You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. That peace is a present possession and may be enjoyed even in the ordinary circumstances of life, even in a crowded bus or while waiting for a train.
Anxiety in such moments unfits us to meet the difficulty, but trust fits us for it. We are to act with all prudence and uprightness, and then to rely simply and entirely upon Him. To trust the Lord Jesus in little things as well as great things is common sense and true wisdom, for He is able to keep that which is committed to Him. Do not make a burden of your feelings about the air or the time, but cast yourself upon your merciful God to help you and to bear you through.
