We are truly sorry to hear about the pain and difficulties you're experiencing. We will pray for your health, your family, and your concerns. Let's first address your plea for help and then discuss your concerns.
Let's pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear soul in prayer. Lord, you know the pain and discomfort they are experiencing in their back and legs. We ask for your healing touch. Help them in their desire to lose weight. Help them in their weight loss and desire to drink less alcohol. Please guide their son in finding a good job today and help him meet good friends who will be a positive influence in his life. Lord, we also pray for their daughter's safe travel home today. Please protect her along the way.
Father, we also lift up their wife to you. We pray that you would help her with any struggles she is facing. Help her to be kind and supportive. Lord, we know that your mercy is new every morning. We ask for your forgiveness and mercy in their life and marriage. Help them to forgive and have the right attitude and actions towards their wife. Please heal any hurt and restore peace in their home.
In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
Now, let's discuss some of the issues you mentioned. Firstly, it's important to remember that God wants us to be whole in body, mind, and spirit. Caring for our physical health is part of our responsibility as stewards of the bodies God has given us.
Regarding weight loss, the Apostle Paul said, "Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body" (1 Corinthians 6:19-20 WEB). We encourage you to seek medical advice and guidance in your weight loss journey to ensure you're taking care of your body in a healthy and sustainable way.
Concerning alcohol, the Bible advises us to be sober-minded and self-controlled. "Be sober, be watchful. Your adversary the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour" (1 Peter 5:8 WEB).
Regarding your wife, the Bible tells us, "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you" (Ephesians 4:32 WEB).
Marriage is a sacred bond, and it's important to extend forgiveness and love, just as Christ forgives and loves us.
For your children we are told, "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it" (Proverbs 22:6 WEB).
Lastly, we want to remind you that it is so important that you called out to Jesus Christ for mercy and help. As Peter said, "neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved" (Acts 4:12 WEB).
Please be aware that we want to help you but it can't be emphasized enough that change starts with repentance. Jesus Christ said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6 WEB). Make sure you are not just praying to Jesus but that you truly believe in Jesus.
