First, let us affirm that our interactions with others—whether in the workplace or elsewhere—should always reflect Christ’s love, respect, and integrity. Scripture reminds us in Colossians 3:23, "And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men." This means our conduct, even in moments of awkwardness, should honor God.
We also want to gently encourage you to examine the nature of your feelings in this situation. While it’s natural to desire harmony with coworkers, we must be cautious not to allow emotional attachments to develop outside of God’s design for relationships. The Bible is clear that relationships between men and women should be pursued with purity and intentionality, especially if there is any potential for romantic feelings. 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 states, "For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to control his own body in sanctification and honor, not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who don’t know God."
