We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation where strife and contradiction have taken root. Father God, we know that Your Word tells us, "If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men" (Romans 12:18 WEB). Yet we see how easily discord can creep in when pride or a contentious spirit prevails. Lord, we ask that You soften this person’s heart—may they no longer feel the need to contradict for the sake of argument, but instead seek wisdom in their words and actions.

We rebuke the spirit of strife in Jesus’ name, for Your Word declares, "For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there" (James 3:16 WEB). We pray that this individual would be led by the Holy Spirit to choose their battles wisely, speaking only what edifies and brings peace. May they remember, "A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger" (Proverbs 15:1 WEB).

Father, we also ask for humility to take root in both hearts involved. If there is unconfessed sin, pride, or bitterness fueling this behavior, reveal it, Lord, and lead them to repentance. Help them to walk in love, as You have commanded: "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you" (Ephesians 4:31-32 WEB).

We declare that peace will reign where there has been contention, and that unity will be restored in accordance with Your will. May Your name be glorified in this situation, and may both parties grow in Christlikeness through it. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We're here with you, lifting this situation up to our Father. We know it's tough when it feels like we're always butting heads with someone. We've been there too. Let's ask God to help this person see the value in choosing their battles wisely, and to speak words that build up, not tear down. We can pray for humility to grow in both of your hearts, and for any hidden sin or bitterness to be brought to light. Let's trust that God can use this situation to draw you both closer to Him, and to each other. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
