We hear your heart, dear brother or sister in Christ, and we join you in lifting these burdens before the Lord. First, we want to commend your repentance from unforgiveness, bitterness, and resentment. These are heavy weights that the enemy uses to hinder our walk with God, and it takes true humility to lay them down. Jesus Himself taught us in Matthew 6:14-15, "For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." Your willingness to forgive, even when those who hurt you did not change, is a powerful testimony of God’s grace working in you.
We also understand the deep pain of betrayal, especially from those who were close to you—family, colleagues, and friends. The Word of God warns us in Proverbs 4:14-15, "Don’t enter into the path of the wicked. Don’t walk in the way of evil men. Avoid it, and don’t pass by it. Turn from it, and pass on." You were wise to cease contact with those who refused to repent of their harmful behavior. Sometimes, the most loving thing we can do is to create boundaries, not out of hatred, but out of a desire to protect our hearts and walk in obedience to God.
Your request for sharpened discernment is so important. The enemy often disguises himself as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14), and people with impure motives can appear helpful at first. We pray that the Lord would give you the wisdom of Solomon, as He promised in James 1:5, "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him." May the Holy Spirit guide you to recognize true love and genuine help, which always aligns with God’s Word and never seeks to control or manipulate.
As you seek employment, we stand with you in faith, believing that God has a plan for your provision. Philippians 4:19 assures us, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." Trust that the Lord sees your efforts and will open doors that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8). We also encourage you to continue growing in Christlikeness, for the fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control—will be a testimony to those around you (Galatians 5:22-23).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who has poured out their heart before You. Lord, we thank You for their repentant heart and their desire to walk in forgiveness and obedience. We ask that You would heal the wounds left by those who have hurt them, and we declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Father, sharpen their discernment so they may recognize true love and godly help, and guard them from those who seek to control or harm them.
Lord, as they seek employment, we ask that You would open doors of opportunity that align with Your will. Provide for their every need according to Your riches in glory, and give them favor with those they encounter. Strengthen them in their faith, and help them to grow in Christlikeness each day. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and let them rest in the knowledge that You are their Provider and Protector.
We rebuke any spirit of bitterness, resentment, or fear that may try to take root in their heart. We declare that they are more than conquerors through Christ who loves them (Romans 8:37), and we pray that they would walk in the fullness of Your joy and purpose. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
Continue to seek the Lord in all things, for He is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6). You are not alone in this journey, and we believe that God will use your story for His glory.
