Beloved of All
What a weight of need you have poured out before the Lord, and I want to encourage you: He hears every single one. Yet in the midst of so many requests, there’s a quiet, urgent priority that keeps surfacing in Scripture, and I believe it’s what the Spirit wants to anchor you in right now. Your relationship with God comes before everything else. Before the breakthrough, before the healing of relationships, before the anointing for service and the resolving of conflicts, your own connection with Him must be first and sure. You cannot hope to see the other things fall into their right place until your soul is at rest in His love for you.
Notice how the Lord puts His own work first. He works in us before He works through us. The labor you are asking Him to do in all these outward circumstances will flow from the work He is already doing inside your heart. Sometimes that inward work feels like chipping away rough edges, and it can be painful. But it is necessary. When you cry out for wisdom, strength, and favor, you’re really asking Him to continue that deep interior shaping. He is faithful to do it. The very faith that prompted you to pray has been placed in you by Him; your salvation and your standing before God are already settled on the basis of what Jesus has done, not on your performance. That truth sets you free from the exhausting treadmill of trying to earn His response.
So many of the items you’ve mentioned involve relationships: conflicts, convictions, reconciliation, unhealthy ties. Here is a principle that runs through the whole Bible, when your relationship with God is right, every other relationship begins to come into alignment. Not that all problems vanish instantly, but your own heart is anchored, and you can love, confront, forgive, and release others without fear. The church, the workplace, the family connections you lifted up: they will not be healed primarily by your pressure or striving, but by the overflow of a living, loving friendship with Jesus. He doesn’t want a legal, anxious, checklist bond with you. He wants you to know how deeply He loves you, to rest in His finished work as a child rests with a father. From that place, the anointing for sermons, prayer gatherings, and outreach comes naturally, because it is His Spirit working through a willing heart.
You mentioned that you find preparation difficult and need the Lord to take over. That is exactly the right posture. The people who built the sanctuary long ago did so because God stirred their hearts and filled them with skill. They had “a mind to work,” and it all sprang from willing hearts, not forced labor. The same God who gave them wisdom is already at work in you. The enemy may try to hinder you with discouragement, mockery, or conflict, just as he tried to stop the wall builders in Nehemiah’s day. But the work went on because they returned each to his assigned place. The Lord will see you through this season. The work He begins, He completes.
So do not be overwhelmed. The God who saved you by sheer grace will not abandon you in the lesser battles. Take a deep breath and let that intimate, loving relationship be your first and most guarded treasure. As you abide there, you’ll find your prayers for others, for protection, for the salvation of the lost, for suffering children, for persecuted believers, for Israel, for those in war zones and calamities, rise with a new peace. He is able to do exceedingly, abundantly beyond all we ask. May the earth indeed be filled with His glory, and may your heart be filled with the certainty that His work never fails.
