Asking prayers for unrepentant Christians

Anonymous

Beloved of All
I have some fellow Christians on my heart (God knows them!!) who are bound in some sins like drinking alcohol and have been hurting me in the last period, and have refused to admit their mistakes. Please pray in Jesus' name that their spiritual eyes will be opened to the truth and that they will be able to understand the truth fully. May their hearts not tolerate sin, and may God change their hearts so that they won't participate in provoking other fellow Christians.....AMEN IN JESUS NAME

We join you in lifting up these unrepentant believers before the Lord, knowing that He alone can soften hearts and bring true conviction. It is a grievous thing when those who profess Christ remain entangled in sin, especially when their actions harm others in the body of believers. The Word of God warns us in **Hebrews 3:12-13**, *"Take heed, brothers, lest perhaps there be in any one of you an evil heart of unbelief, in falling away from the living God; but exhort one another day by day, so long as it is called 'today'; lest any one of you be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin."* Sin is deceptive, and when unrepented, it hardens the heart and blinds the eyes to truth. Yet we know that God is faithful, and He does not desire for any to remain in bondage.

The sin of drunkenness is explicitly condemned in Scripture. **Ephesians 5:18** commands, *"Don’t be drunken with wine, in which is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit."* Alcohol can cloud judgment, weaken self-control, and open the door to further sin. When believers indulge in such things, they not only harm themselves but also cause stumbling blocks for others. **Romans 14:21** tells us, *"It is good to not eat meat, drink wine, nor do anything by which your brother stumbles, is offended, or is made weak."* Their actions have wounded you, and this is not the way of Christ. His followers are called to love one another, to build up rather than tear down, and to walk in humility and repentance.

We also recognize that their refusal to admit their mistakes reveals a deeper spiritual issue—pride and a lack of fear of the Lord. **Proverbs 28:13** declares, *"He who conceals his sins doesn’t prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy."* True repentance begins with acknowledging sin before God and turning away from it. Without this, there can be no restoration, no healing, and no growth in Christ.

Yet we must also examine our own hearts in this matter. Have we, in our hurt, allowed bitterness or resentment to take root? **Hebrews 12:15** warns, *"Looking carefully lest anyone falls short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and many be defiled by it."* While we pray for their repentance, we must also release any unforgiveness in our hearts, trusting that God is just and will deal with them in His perfect timing. **Romans 12:19** reminds us, *"Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.'"*

Let us pray with boldness and faith, knowing that our God is mighty to save and to transform even the hardest of hearts.

**Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up these brothers and sisters who have strayed from Your path. Lord, You see their hearts, their struggles, and the sins that have ensnared them. We ask that You, by the power of the Holy Spirit, open their spiritual eyes to the truth of their condition. Convict them deeply, Lord, so that they may no longer tolerate sin in their lives but turn from it with godly sorrow. Break the chains of alcohol and any other stronghold that has taken root in their lives. Let them see the damage their actions have caused—not just to themselves, but to the body of Christ, including this Your servant who has been wounded by their behavior.

Father, soften their hearts to receive Your correction. May they no longer harden themselves against Your voice but humble themselves before You in true repentance. Remind them of Your love, yes, but also of Your holiness—that You cannot dwell where sin reigns. Bring them to a place of brokenness, where they cry out to You for mercy and restoration. Let them experience the weight of their sin so that they may turn to You with all their hearts.

We also pray for our sibling in Christ who has carried this burden. Heal their wounds, Lord, and guard their heart from bitterness. Fill them with Your peace and the assurance that You see all things and will bring justice in Your perfect way. Give them wisdom in how to interact with these believers—whether to confront in love, to set boundaries, or to step back and trust You to work. Let them walk in forgiveness, even as they long for repentance.

Lord, we ask that You would raise up godly men and women in their lives who will speak Your truth in love, who will not enable their sin but will call them to accountability. Surround them with Your Word, Your Spirit, and Your people so that they cannot continue in deception. May they come to a place where they despise their sin as You do and seek righteousness with all their hearts.

We declare that no weapon formed against Your children will prosper. Satan has sought to use these sins to divide and destroy, but we stand against his schemes in the name of Jesus. Let this situation bring glory to You, Lord—either through the repentance and restoration of these believers or through the refining of Your faithful ones who have been hurt. May Your will be done, and may Your kingdom come in their lives.

We ask all this in the powerful and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who gave Himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for Himself a people that are His very own, eager to do what is good. Amen.***

We're right there with you, friend, lifting these wayward brothers and sisters before our Father's throne. It's heartbreaking when those who claim Christ remain entangled in sin, especially when it hurts others in the body of believers. We know that only God can open their spiritual eyes and bring true conviction.

We've been praying for them, asking the Lord to soften their hearts and reveal the truth of their condition. We've been asking Him to break the chains of alcohol and any other strongholds that have taken root in their lives. We've been praying for their brokenness, that they may cry out to Him for mercy and restoration.

But we've also been praying for you, dear one. We've been asking the Lord to heal your wounds and guard your heart from bitterness. We've been praying for wisdom in how to interact with them - whether to confront in love, to set boundaries, or to step back and trust the Lord to work. We've been praying for forgiveness to flow freely from your heart, even as you long for their repentance.

We're believing with you for their repentance and restoration. We're believing for God to raise up godly men and women in their lives who will speak truth in love, who will not enable their sin but will call them to accountability. We're believing for their complete transformation, that they may despise their sin as God does and seek righteousness with all their hearts.

Let's continue to stand together in faith, knowing that our God is mighty to save and transform even the hardest of hearts. Let's trust that He sees all things and will bring justice in His perfect way. Let's declare that no weapon formed against His children will prosper, and that this situation will bring glory to Him.

We're in this together, friend. Let's keep praying, keep believing, and keep trusting our good Father to work all things together for His glory and our good.
