Asking prayers for unrepentant christians

Anonymous

Beloved of All
I have some fellow Christians on my heart (God knows them!!) who are bound in some sins like drinking alcohol and have been hurting me in the last period, and have refused to admit their mistakes. Please pray in Jesus' name that their spiritual eyes will be opened to the truth and that they will be able to understand the truth fully. May their hearts not tolerate sin, and may God change their hearts so that they won't participate in provoking other fellow Christians.....AMEN IN JESUS NAME

We join you in lifting up these fellow believers before the Lord, for it grieves our hearts to see brothers and sisters in Christ entangled in sin and causing harm to others while remaining unrepentant. The Word of God warns us clearly that no one who lives in willful sin has seen or known Him. As it is written in 1 John 3:6-10, *"Whoever remains in him doesn’t sin. Whoever sins hasn’t seen him, neither knows him. Little children, let no one lead you astray. He who does righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. To this end the Son of God was revealed: that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whoever is born of God doesn’t commit sin, because his seed remains in him; and he can’t sin, because he is born of God. In this the children of God are revealed, and the children of the devil. Whoever doesn’t do righteousness is not of God, neither is he who doesn’t love his brother."*

The sin of drunkenness is explicitly condemned in Scripture, for it leads to debauchery and clouds the mind, making one vulnerable to further sin. Ephesians 5:18 commands us, *"Don’t be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit."* When believers indulge in such behaviors, they not only harm themselves but also stumble others and bring reproach upon the name of Christ. Proverbs 20:1 declares, *"Wine is a mocker, and beer is a brawler. Whoever is led astray by them is not wise."* We must also remember the words of Jesus in Luke 17:1-2, *"He said to the disciples, 'It is impossible that no occasions of stumbling should come, but woe to him through whom they come! It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea, rather than that he should cause one of these little ones to stumble.'"* The harm they have caused you is a serious matter, and we pray that the Lord will deal with their hearts so that they may turn from their wicked ways and seek forgiveness.

It is also deeply concerning that these individuals refuse to admit their mistakes, for true repentance begins with the acknowledgment of sin. Proverbs 28:13 tells us, *"He who conceals his sins doesn’t prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy."* Without repentance, there can be no restoration, and without restoration, their fellowship with God and with the body of Christ remains broken. We must pray that the Holy Spirit will convict them of their sins, for it is the kindness of God that leads to repentance (Romans 2:4). Let us also remember the words of James 5:19-20, *"Brothers, if any among you wanders from the truth and someone turns him back, let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins."*

We must also address the pain they have caused you. It is not wrong to feel hurt, but we are called to respond in a way that honors God. Romans 12:17-21 instructs us, *"Repay no one evil for evil. Respect what is honorable in the sight of all men. If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.' Therefore 'If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing so, you will heap coals of fire on his head.' Don’t be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good."* While we pray for their repentance, we also pray that the Lord will heal your heart and guard you from bitterness. Forgive them as Christ has forgiven you, but do not enable their sin. If necessary, set boundaries to protect your own walk with the Lord, for we are also called to wisdom.

Now, let us pray together for these souls who are bound in sin, that the Lord may break the chains that hold them and turn their hearts back to Him in true repentance.

**Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up these brothers and sisters who have strayed from Your path. Lord, You know their names, their struggles, and the depths of their hearts. We ask that You open their spiritual eyes, that the veil of deception may be lifted, and that they may see their sin for what it truly is—an affront to Your holiness and a stumbling block to others. Convict them by Your Holy Spirit, Lord, and grant them no rest until they turn from their wicked ways and seek Your face in true repentance.

Father, we rebuked the spirit of drunkenness and rebellion that has taken hold of them. Break its power in their lives, Lord, and replace it with a hunger and thirst for righteousness. Let them no longer tolerate sin in their hearts but instead flee from it as Joseph fled from Potiphar’s wife. Remind them that their bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and they are not their own, for they were bought with a price—the precious blood of Jesus (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).

Lord, we also pray for our brother/sister who has been wounded by their actions. Heal their heart, Father, and guard them from bitterness or resentment. Fill them with Your peace and wisdom as they navigate this difficult season. Give them the strength to forgive, even as they seek Your justice and restoration.

We declare that no weapon formed against Your children will prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Bring these wayward believers to a place of brokenness before You, Lord, that they may experience the joy of Your forgiveness and the freedom that comes from walking in obedience. Let their lives no longer provoke others to stumble but instead become a testimony of Your grace and transforming power.

We ask all this in the mighty and holy name of Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. May Your will be done in their lives, Lord, and may You be glorified through their repentance and restoration. Amen.**

We're here with you, dear friend, standing in the gap for these wayward brothers and sisters. It's heartbreaking to see fellow believers bound in sin, causing harm to others and themselves. Let's pray for their spiritual eyes to be opened, for them to see the truth and repent from their sins. May God grant them no rest until they turn back to Him. We also lift you up in prayer, asking for healing and strength. May you forgive as you've been forgiven, and may God give you wisdom to navigate this difficult time. In Jesus' name, we pray.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
