Asking for prayers for unrepentant Christians

Anonymous

Beloved of All
I have some fellow Christians on my heart (God knows them!!) who are bound in some sins like drinking alcohol and have been hurting me in the last period, and have refused to admit their mistakes. Please pray in Jesus' name that their spiritual eyes will be opened to the truth and that they will be able to understand the truth fully. May their hearts not tolerate sin, and may God change their hearts so that they won't participate in provoking other fellow Christians.....AMEN IN JESUS NAME

We join you in lifting up these fellow believers who have strayed into sin and are causing pain, knowing that God’s heart is grieved when His children walk in disobedience. It is right to pray for their repentance, for Scripture warns us that unrepentant sin hardens the heart and brings separation from God. As it is written in **Hebrews 3:12-13 (WEB)**, *"Beware, brothers, lest perhaps there will be in any one of you an evil heart of unbelief, in falling away from the living God; but exhort one another day by day, so long as it is called 'today,' lest any one of you be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin."* Their refusal to acknowledge their wrongdoing is a dangerous place to be, for **1 John 1:8 (WEB)** tells us, *"If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us."*

We also recognize the pain they have caused you, and we pray that God grants you strength, forgiveness, and wisdom in how to respond. **Matthew 18:15-17 (WEB)** instructs us on how to address sin within the body of Christ: *"If your brother sins against you, go, show him his fault between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained back your brother. But if he doesn’t listen, take one or two more with you, that at the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the assembly. If he refuses to hear the assembly also, let him be to you as a Gentile or a tax collector."* If you have not already done so, we encourage you to follow this biblical process, speaking the truth in love while leaving room for the Holy Spirit to convict and restore.

Their indulgence in alcohol is particularly concerning, for **Ephesians 5:18 (WEB)** commands, *"Don’t be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit."* Drunkenness and the behaviors that often accompany it are not befitting of a child of God. It clouds judgment, fuels sinful actions, and opens the door to further rebellion. We pray that the Lord breaks the stronghold of alcohol in their lives and replaces their desire for it with a hunger for righteousness.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up these brothers and sisters who have wandered from Your truth. Lord, You alone can open their spiritual eyes and soften their hardened hearts. We ask that You convict them deeply of their sin, especially their refusal to repent and their participation in drunkenness, which has brought harm to themselves and others. Remove the scales from their eyes, Lord, that they may see the gravity of their actions and turn back to You in genuine repentance.

Father, we pray that You break every chain of addiction and rebellion in their lives. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit so that they may walk in obedience and holiness. Let them no longer tolerate sin but instead flee from it, pursuing righteousness, faith, love, and peace, as **2 Timothy 2:22 (WEB)** urges. Surround them with godly influences who will speak Your truth into their lives and hold them accountable.

We also lift up our sister who has been wounded by their actions. Lord, grant her Your peace and wisdom as she navigates this difficult season. Help her to forgive as You have forgiven her, while also setting godly boundaries to protect her heart. Give her the courage to follow Your Word in addressing this sin, whether through private confrontation or, if necessary, involving the church.

May these wayward believers be restored to fellowship with You and with the body of Christ. Let their lives bear fruit that glorifies Your name, and may their repentance be a testimony of Your mercy and grace. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone can save and transform. Amen.

We're here with you, lifting up our fellow believers who've strayed into sin, causing pain. It's heartbreaking to see God's children walking in disobedience, but we know His heart is always grieving over our sin. We're praying for their repentance, that their hearts would be softened and turned back to God. Their refusal to acknowledge their wrongdoing is a dangerous place to be, but we trust that God's truth can pierce even the hardest hearts.

We're also praying for you, dear friend, that God would grant you strength, forgiveness, and wisdom in how to respond. It's tough to see loved ones hurting themselves and others, but remember, God is always faithful to His Word. We're here to support you, just as we're all part of the same body in Christ.

Let's keep praying together:

Dear Lord, we come before You with heavy hearts, asking You to open the eyes and soften the hearts of our unrepentant brothers and sisters. Convict them deeply of their sin, especially their refusal to repent and their indulgence in alcohol. Remove the scales from their eyes, Lord, that they may see the gravity of their actions and turn back to You in genuine repentance.

Break every chain of addiction and rebellion in their lives, Lord. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in obedience and holiness. Help them to no longer tolerate sin but flee from it, pursuing righteousness, faith, love, and peace.

Comfort our hurting friend, Lord. Grant her Your peace and wisdom. Help her to forgive as You have forgiven her, while also setting godly boundaries to protect her heart. Give her the courage to follow Your Word in addressing this sin.

Restore these wayward believers, Lord. Let their lives bear fruit that glorifies Your name, and may their repentance be a testimony of Your mercy and grace. We ask all this in Jesus' mighty name. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
