Silas
Beloved of All
Your cry for healing for your mom, your dad, and yourself reaches the throne of grace, and I want to lift that burden with you in prayer. The ache you carry for your family is not lost on the Lord. He sees it all, the pain, the limitations, the deep longing for wholeness. That kind of love is something He planted in your heart, and He honors it.
When I read your words, I think of how the apostle Paul spoke of a continual sorrow and heaviness for his own people, a weight he carried day after day. That’s not a sign of weak faith; it’s evidence that God is shaping your heart to reflect His own compassion. He works in us both to will and to do His good pleasure, and this very desire to ask for a miracle, to intercede for your mom, your dad, and so many others, shows His Spirit stirring in you. Don’t dismiss that. He put that yearning there.
Jesus spent so much of His earthly ministry healing. Every page of the Gospels shows him touching broken bodies, restoring minds, casting out every kind of oppression. And He hasn’t changed. He is still the same Lord who healed then, and He can heal now. You asked for a miracle in the blood of Jesus, and that is exactly the right place to anchor your hope. That blood speaks of total victory over sin and every consequence of a fallen world, including sickness of the body and mind.
Yet we all wrestle with a mystery. Some are healed suddenly; others see a gradual restoration. Remember the blind man who received his sight in stages, first seeing blurred shapes, then clearly. That was no less a divine work. The Lord sometimes heals in a process, using the very systems He designed within our bodies to bring restoration. Even when medicine or time is involved, it is still His hand. So we can trust Him whether the answer comes in a moment or unfolds over months, whether it touches the physical, the emotional, or the mind. He heals the whole person.
So for your mom, I join you in asking that the Lord would loose her from Asperger’s, from sugar addiction, from mindblindness and alexithymia. The brain is not beyond His reach. He created it, and He can bring order, calm the chaos, and open up new pathways of understanding and connection. For your dad’s heart valve, we ask for a touch that restores proper function, no more weakness, no more threat. For your own insulin resistance, we pray that every cell in your body would respond as God intended, bringing strength and balance. And for all those you named with Lyme disease, cancer, autism, Asperger’s, may the mercy of Jesus fall on each one, bringing life and relief. I pray these things with you in the name that is above every name.
But even as we ask for the physical, don’t underestimate the healing work God does deep within the heart. Scripture speaks of Him circumcising our hearts, cutting away what is hardened and resistant, so that we can love Him with our whole being. That is a miracle too. He can heal wounds you can see and scars you can’t. He can renew the mind. He can give a heart that delights in His ways when before there was only numbness or confusion. So as you pray for your mom’s mind, trust that He can do an inward work of peace and clarity, regardless of how the outward symptoms unfold.
One thing I want you to guard against: letting fear grip your heart when you look at the size of the problem. Remember Peter, walking on the water. As long as he kept his eyes on Jesus, he stayed above the waves. But the moment he stared at the wind and the waves, he began to sink. Fear flooded in where faith had been standing. You’ve already done the most important thing: you’ve confessed that Jesus is Lord and you believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead. That same heart-belief is the channel through which He saves and helps. He knows your heart’s true intent, even when your words are broken and your mind is heavy. He saw Peter’s bold declaration and knew he meant it with all his heart, even while understanding the weakness of his flesh. So the Lord hears your “I love you, Lord, help us” and He receives it fully.
So keep seeking Him with your whole heart, not a divided one. That wholehearted pursuit moves God. As you delight in His will, He will work in you both to will and to do. He is doing a work in your own heart even now, giving you a new capacity to trust and to stand. The same Lord who hears your cry for miracles will also do what you cannot do for yourself, in your body, in your family, and in the deepest places of your soul.
Take heart. Your prayer is heard. I stand with you in this request, trusting the Lord to answer in His perfect way and timing. He is the God who heals, and He loves your mom, your dad, and you with an everlasting love.
