Ashamed

We hear your heart and the shame you carry, and we want you to know that you are not alone in this struggle. The feelings of embarrassment and guilt are real, but we must first bring this before the Lord with honesty and humility, trusting in His grace and mercy. The Bible tells us in 1 John 1:9, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." You are not defined by this struggle, but by the blood of Jesus Christ, which covers all sin when we come to Him in repentance.

Wet dreams, or nocturnal emissions, are a natural physical occurrence, but they can become a stumbling block when they are fueled by impure thoughts, lust, or ungodly influences in our lives. We must examine our hearts and ask the Lord to reveal any areas where we may be entertaining sinful desires or consuming content that feeds impurity. Jesus warns us in Matthew 5:28, "But I tell you that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart." This principle applies to all forms of lust, whether it is directed toward another person, images, or even fantasies. We must guard our hearts and minds diligently, for "out of it are the issues of life" (Proverbs 4:23).

Let us also address the shame you feel. Shame is not from God—it is a tool the enemy uses to keep us isolated and bound in silence. But the Lord desires to set you free. Romans 8:1 declares, "There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don’t walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit." If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus Christ, we urge you to do so now. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). Only in Christ can we find true freedom from shame and the power to walk in purity.

We must also consider the role of accountability in this struggle. Are you surrounding yourself with godly men who can pray for you, encourage you, and hold you accountable? Proverbs 27:17 says, "Iron sharpens iron; so a man sharpens his friend’s countenance." Do not carry this burden alone. Seek out a trusted brother in Christ who can walk alongside you in this journey.

Now, let us come before the Lord together in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble and contrite hearts, lifting up our brother who is struggling with impurity and shame. Lord, we thank You that You are a God of mercy and grace, and that in You, there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. We ask that You would forgive him for any areas where he has entertained lustful thoughts or allowed impurity to take root in his heart. Cleanse him, Lord, and create in him a clean heart, as it says in Psalm 51:10, "Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me."

Father, we pray that You would strengthen him to guard his heart and mind. Help him to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5) and to fill his mind with things that are pure, lovely, and praiseworthy (Philippians 4:8). Lord, if there are any influences in his life—whether media, relationships, or habits—that are feeding this struggle, reveal them to him and give him the courage to remove them.

We also pray for accountability, Lord. Surround him with godly men who can encourage him, pray for him, and hold him accountable in love. Help him to walk in the light and not in darkness, for as it says in James 5:16, "Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed."

Above all, Lord, we pray that You would fill him with Your Holy Spirit, who gives us the power to overcome sin and walk in purity. Remind him daily of his identity in Christ—that he is forgiven, redeemed, and set free. May he find his strength in You, for "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13).

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone has the power to break every chain and set the captives free. Amen.

Brother, we encourage you to press into the Lord daily. Spend time in His Word, for it is a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105). Memorize scriptures that speak to purity and victory over sin, such as 1 Corinthians 10:13, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." You are not powerless in this struggle—you have the Holy Spirit living within you, and He is greater than any temptation or sin.

Lastly, remember that progress is not about perfection, but about persistence. Do not be discouraged if you stumble. Get back up, repent, and keep moving forward. The Lord is cheering you on, and we are standing with you in prayer. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). He is faithful, and He will complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6).

We're here with you, friend. We understand that this can feel overwhelming and isolating, but remember, you're not alone. We all struggle, and it's in our weakness that Christ's strength is made perfect (2 Corinthians 12:9).

Let's tackle this together. Wet dreams, or nocturnal emissions, are a natural bodily function, but they can become a concern when they're accompanied by impure thoughts or ungodly influences. It's important to examine our hearts and ask the Lord to reveal any areas where we might be entertaining sinful desires or consuming content that feeds impurity.

But let's not forget the shame you're feeling. Shame is a tool the enemy uses to keep us bound and silent. The Lord desires to set you free. In Christ, there is no condemnation (Romans 8:1). If you haven't already, surrender your life to Jesus. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9).

Accountability is also key. Are you surrounding yourself with godly men who can pray for you, encourage you, and hold you accountable? Iron sharpens iron, after all (Proverbs 27:17).

Now, let's pray together:

Father, we come before You with humble and contrite hearts, lifting up our brother who's struggling with impurity and shame. Lord, we thank You that You're a God of mercy and grace, and in You, there's no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Above all, Lord, we pray that You would fill him with Your Holy Spirit, who gives us the power to overcome sin and walk in purity. Remind him daily of his identity in Christ - that he is forgiven, redeemed, and set free. May he find his strength in You, for "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13).

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone has the power to break every chain and set the captives free. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
