Ashamed and Embarrassed

Hello, I would like to put in a prayer request for myself. Due to embarrassment, I’ll be speaking vaguely. But there’s something about myself, something that I don’t do in particular, that I am honestly embarrassed about. Reasons why I can be embarrassed about this aspect of my life is because the action that I don’t do is something that is very common to do, especially for people in my age bracket. But for whatever reason, I just don’t do it. There is a possibility that me not doing this very common action is going to be brought up in places that I don’t want it to be discussed. Truth be told, I never want it to be discussed. I hate when it is brought up. I just don’t want to be judged. I also don’t want to lose the respect of my peers, especially because of the position that I am in. I hope that is not selfish of me. Maybe I’m overthinking all of this. I know I have to turn things around and start doing what I need to do. Me not doing this action truly hinder me. It’s not that I can’t do it, because I can. I just don’t for whatever reason. And it brings me shame and embarrassment and I try to hide it and avoid it as much as possible. I don’t want to be this way. I know I can’t run from this forever. I know I have to turn things around but I can only do it with courage and strength through our Lord and Savior. I apologize for not being detailed here. I’m choosing to be vague. Overall, we all have our vices and our fears. But I am beautifully made and I shouldn’t be afraid. Please pray with me and for me. I just want to be okay. I don’t want to be judged. I don’t want to be afraid. I’m tired of feeling this way. In the mighty name of Jesus, all is well and all will be well. Thank you and God bless.

We understand the weight of shame and embarrassment you carry, and we want you to know that you are not alone in this struggle. The fear of judgment and the desire to avoid discomfort are feelings many face, but we must remember that our identity is not found in the opinions of others—it is rooted in Christ alone. You have already acknowledged that you are beautifully made, and we affirm that truth with Scripture: *"I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well"* (Psalm 139:14, WEB). This is not just a comforting thought—it is the foundation of how God sees you, and it should shape how you see yourself.

Yet, we must also address the deeper issue here: the fear of man and the shame tied to something you feel you *should* be doing. The Bible warns us against this in Proverbs 29:25: *"The fear of man proves to be a snare, but whoever puts his trust in Yahweh is kept safe."* Your hesitation may stem from a fear of what others think, but we encourage you to ask yourself: *Is this "common action" something that aligns with God’s will, or is it something the world expects?* If it is morally neutral—like a skill, habit, or social norm—then your struggle may simply be one of confidence or fear. But if it is something that conflicts with biblical principles—even if it is widely accepted—then your conviction may be the Holy Spirit guiding you away from compromise.

You mentioned that this issue hinders you, and we want to pray for your freedom from that hindrance. However, we must also consider whether this "action" is something God is calling you *to* or *away from*. If it is a matter of obedience—such as sharing your faith, serving others, or stepping into a role God has for you—then your reluctance may be spiritual resistance. But if it is something the world pressures you into—like conformity to ungodly standards—then your hesitation may be godly discernment. We don’t know the specifics, but we do know this: *"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men"* (Colossians 3:23, WEB). Your focus should not be on pleasing people but on honoring God.

You also expressed a desire for courage and strength, and we remind you that *"God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control"* (2 Timothy 1:7, WEB). If this is a matter of stepping into something God has called you to, then He will provide the strength. If it is a matter of resisting worldly expectations, then He will give you the discernment to stand firm. Either way, you do not have to carry this burden alone.

Now, let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister to You, knowing that You see the depths of their heart and the weight of their shame. Lord, we ask that You would replace their fear with faith, their embarrassment with confidence in You. If this struggle is rooted in a fear of man, break that snare and remind them that their worth is found in Christ alone. If this is a matter of obedience, grant them the courage to step forward in Your strength. If this is a conviction against worldly pressures, fortify their resolve to stand firm in Your truth.

We rebuke the spirit of shame that has taken hold, for *"there is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus"* (Romans 8:1, WEB). You have not called us to live in fear but in freedom. We pray that You would expose any lies the enemy has whispered—lies that say they must conform, that they are lacking, or that they will be rejected. Replace those lies with Your truth: that they are fearfully and wonderfully made, redeemed, and equipped for Your purposes.

Lord, if there is sin involved—whether in action or inaction—convict and cleanse them. If there is fear, cast it out. If there is confusion, bring clarity. We ask that You would surround them with godly counsel and wisdom, that they would not make decisions based on the opinions of others but on Your Word alone.

We declare over them that *"the Lord is my helper. I will not fear what man can do to me"* (Hebrews 13:6, WEB). Give them peace in knowing that You are their shield and their glory, the One who lifts their head. Let them walk in the confidence that comes from being Your child, not in the approval of people.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray—amen.

Finally, we encourage you to seek godly counsel if this issue continues to weigh on you. Sometimes, speaking with a trusted pastor or mentor can bring clarity and freedom. And remember: *"Cast all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you"* (1 Peter 5:7, WEB). You are not alone in this, and God is not disappointed in your honesty—He is drawing you closer to Himself through it. Keep seeking Him, and He will lead you into truth and peace.

We hear you, dear friend, and we're here with you. We know the weight of shame and embarrassment can be heavy, but remember, you're not alone. We're all in this together, and we're here to lift you up in prayer.

We understand that you're struggling with something that's common but you're embarrassed about. You're worried about what others might think or say, and you don't want to be judged. We get it. It's human nature to care about what others think, but we must remember that our true identity is found in Christ, not in the opinions of others.

We want to encourage you with these words from Psalm 139:14, "I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful; my soul knows that very well." God sees you as beautiful and wonderful, just as you are. That's how He sees you, and that's how you should see yourself too.

But we also want to address the fear that's holding you back. It's okay to be afraid, but we must not let that fear control our lives. In Proverbs 29:25, we're told, "The fear of man proves to be a snare, but whoever puts his trust in the Lord is kept safe." We encourage you to ask yourself, is this action something that aligns with God's will, or is it something the world expects? If it's morally neutral, then your struggle might be one of confidence or fear. But if it's something that conflicts with biblical principles, then your conviction may be the Holy Spirit guiding you away from compromise.

We want to pray for your freedom from this hindrance, but we also want to consider whether this action is something God is calling you to or away from. If it's a matter of obedience, then your reluctance might be spiritual resistance. But if it's something the world pressures you into, then your hesitation might be godly discernment. We don't know the specifics, but we know this: "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men" (Colossians 3:23).

We also want to remind you that God hasn't given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). If this is a matter of stepping into something God has called you to, then He will provide the strength. If it's a matter of resisting worldly expectations, then He will give you the discernment to stand firm.

Now, let's pray for you:

Dear Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister to You. We know that You see the depths of their heart and the weight of their shame.

We rebuke the spirit of shame that has taken hold. There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1). You have not called us to live in fear but in freedom. We pray that You would expose any lies the enemy has whispered - lies that say they must conform, that they are lacking, or that they will be rejected. Replace those lies with Your truth: that they are fearfully and wonderfully made, redeemed, and equipped for Your purposes.

Lord, if there is sin involved, convict and cleanse them. If there is fear, cast it out. If there is confusion, bring clarity. We ask that You would surround them with godly counsel and wisdom, that they would not make decisions based on the opinions of others but on Your Word alone.

We declare over them that "the Lord is my helper; I will not fear what man can do to me" (Hebrews 13:6). Give them peace in knowing that You are their shield and their glory, the One who lifts their head. Let them walk in the confidence that comes from being Your child, not in the approval of people.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray - amen.

Finally, we encourage you to seek godly counsel if this issue continues to weigh on you. Sometimes, speaking with a trusted pastor or mentor can bring clarity and freedom. And remember, "Cast all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you" (1 Peter 5:7). You are not alone in this, and God is not disappointed in your honesty - He is drawing you closer to Himself through it. Keep seeking Him, and He will lead you into truth and peace.

Heavenly Father,

We lift up Your child to You today, who carries a hidden burden of embarrassment and fear. You know the intimate details of their struggle, even when words fail. Your word says, "Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand" (Isaiah 41:10). We claim this promise for them now.

Lord, quiet the fear of judgment and replace it with the profound truth that they are "fearfully and wonderfully made" (Psalm 139:14). Shield them from the anxiety of this matter being discussed and grant them the courage to face what they feel they must change.

Where there is shame, pour out Your grace. Where there is avoidance, instill Godly confidence. Remind them that their worth is found not in the actions they take or don't take, but in their identity as Your beloved child. "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Grant them the strength to begin this journey of change, not in their own power, but through Christ who strengthens them (Philippians 4:13). Cover them with Your peace that transcends all understanding.

In the mighty and freeing name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

May Jesus give you strength and courage to do or not do whatever it is you don’t want to do. Jesus said don’t worry about tomorrow, tomorrow has its own worries. Meaning is whatever the future holds, don’t worry about what people say. The only one you should please is God.
Joshua 5:1– There is someone standing beside you that is stronger than the one standing against you.
God is always with you. When you have strong faith that God will help you through anything, then there’s NO reason to be afraid of anything. Just keep talking to Him and praying. Get closer to Him and He will get closer to you.
Romans 8:38-39- For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
God will love you no matter what. There is NOTHING you can do to make Him not love you. But you must show your love for Him too. That’s mainly what He wants from you.
Read the Bible more and find out the way Jesus wants us to love God our father.
God bless you and give you His peace. In Jesus name amen.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for trusting us with this deeply personal burden and allowing us the honor of lifting you up in prayer. Your vulnerability in sharing this struggle—even while choosing to keep details private—is a testament to your heart’s desire for freedom and wholeness in Christ. We have been praying earnestly that the Lord would replace your shame with His peace, your fear with His courage, and your embarrassment with the unshakable truth of His love for you. You are not defined by what you do or do not do, but by whose you are: a cherished child of God, fearfully and wonderfully made.

If the Lord has begun to work in this area of your life, we would love to rejoice with you. Even the smallest step forward is worth celebrating, for we know that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion. If this weight still feels heavy, please know you are not alone—we are here to continue standing with you in prayer. There is no rush, no judgment, and no condemnation here, only the grace of our Savior who meets us exactly where we are.

Remember, beloved, that Jesus does not call us to perfection before we come to Him, but to surrender. He is your strength when you feel weak, your defender when you fear judgment, and your peace when shame threatens to overwhelm. Keep seeking Him, even in the quiet, hidden places of your heart. He is faithful, and He is near.

We are still praying for you, that the Lord would grant you the courage to face this with confidence in Him, the wisdom to know His timing, and the freedom to walk in His truth without fear. May you feel His gentle hand guiding you, step by step, into the fullness of the life He has for you. In Jesus’ name.
