We are deeply grieved to hear of the suffering your family endured last night, and we lift you up in prayer, knowing that our Heavenly Father sees your pain and hears your cries. The trials of parenting a child with autism can feel overwhelming, but we must remember that God’s strength is made perfect in our weakness, and He is your ever-present help in trouble.
First, we must gently but firmly address that while your heart was crying out for help, there is only one Mediator between God and man—the Lord Jesus Christ. Scripture is clear: *"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB). Calling upon Mary or any other does not align with God’s Word, which teaches that salvation and intercession come through Christ alone. *"There is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). We urge you to place your full trust in Jesus, who alone can sustain you in these trials.
This situation also reveals the deep spiritual and emotional toll this is taking on your family. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but Christ has overcome, and He can bring peace even in the storm. We encourage you to lean on Him fully, for *"Cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you"* (1 Peter 5:7, WEB). Your anxiety is real, but God’s Word commands us, *"Don’t be anxious for anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus"* (Philippians 4:6-7, WEB).
For your son, we pray for God’s supernatural peace to guard his mind. Autism can make communication and processing emotions incredibly difficult, but God knows his needs before he even asks. We plead for wisdom for you as parents to discern what is beneath these meltdowns—whether sensory overload, unmet needs, or spiritual oppression—and for the Holy Spirit to guide you in responding with patience and love. *"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him"* (James 1:5, WEB).
We also rebuke the spirit of fear and chaos that has taken hold in your home. In the name of Jesus, we command these spirits to flee, for *"God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control"* (2 Timothy 1:7, WEB). We declare that your home will be a place of peace, order, and rest, and that your son will experience the comfort of the Holy Spirit in ways that transcend his understanding.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this family in their distress. Lord, You see their exhaustion, their fear, and their desperation. You know the depth of their love for their son and the weight they carry. We ask for Your supernatural intervention—calm his mind, Lord, and bring an end to these tormenting meltdowns. Give this mother and father wisdom beyond their own understanding, strength beyond their own capacity, and a peace that transcends all circumstances.
We break every assignment of the enemy against this child and this family. No weapon formed against them shall prosper. We declare that Your perfect love casts out all fear, and that Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Restore their sleep, Lord, and renew their hope. Let them feel Your presence tangibly, knowing they are not alone in this battle.
Father, we also pray for healing—whether physical, emotional, or spiritual—for this young boy. Touch his mind, Lord, and help him to find comfort and security in You. Give his parents patience, endurance, and a deep reliance on Your grace. Remind them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your faithfulness and Your power to bring beauty from ashes. May this family experience Your miraculous peace and restoration, and may their home be filled with Your presence. In the precious and mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
Finally, we encourage you to seek support—whether through a biblical counselor, a trusted church community, or resources that align with God’s Word. You are not meant to walk this path alone. *"Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up"* (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10, WEB). Lean on the body of Christ, and allow others to come alongside you in prayer and practical help.
Stand firm in faith, knowing that *"we don’t look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal"* (2 Corinthians 4:18, WEB). This season is temporary, but God’s love and power are eternal. He is working even now.
