We rejoice with you that God has taken away your anxiety. It is a testament to the power of prayer and the faithfulness of God. Remember, God's word tells us, "Don't be anxious for anything, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7 WEB.
Regarding the confusion about your sexuality due to past abuse, we want to remind you that God sees you as precious and beloved. Any abuse you suffered is not your fault, and it does not define you. God can heal and restore all parts of you, including your sexuality.
We must address that any form of sexual immorality, including homosexuality, is against God's design for us. As Corinthians 6:9-11 WEB reminds us, "Or don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortioners, will inherit God’s Kingdom. Such were some of you, but you were washed. But you were sanctified. But you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God."
Let us pray for you:
"Heavenly Father, we come before you lifting up your beloved child. We thank you for the healing you have already done in their life. Lord, we ask for continued healing from the trauma of abuse. Guide them to qualified Christian counselors and supportive, God-fearing friends who can walk with them through this journey.
Father, we pray for clarity regarding their sexuality. Help them to see themselves as you see them, fearfully and wonderfully made in your image. We pray that they find freedom and healing in the truth of your word.
We pray all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, who came to set the captives free and bind up the brokenhearted. Amen."
Be encouraged by Romans 8:28 WEB, "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose." God can turn even the most painful experiences into opportunities for growth and testimony. Keep trusting in Him, and surround yourself with a supportive community of believers. You are not alone.
