We come before the Lord with heavy yet hopeful hearts, lifting up ### and his son in this time of great need. The struggle with drugs is a powerful and destructive force, but we know that our God is greater, and His power to redeem and restore is without limit. The Word of God tells us in **1 Corinthians 10:13**, *"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure."* This is a promise we cling to for ###’s son—for God will provide a way out, and we pray he will take it.
Yet we must also address the heart behind this struggle. Often, addiction is a symptom of deeper spiritual emptiness or rebellion. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (**John 10:10**), but Jesus came to give life abundantly. If ###’s son has not surrendered his life to Christ, that is the first and most urgent step. There is no true freedom apart from Him. As it is written in **John 8:36**, *"If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed."* We plead with the Lord to break every chain of bondage and draw this young man to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.
We also recognize that this battle is not just physical or emotional—it is spiritual. **Ephesians 6:12** reminds us, *"For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."* Therefore, we put on the whole armor of God and stand firm in prayer, binding the works of the enemy in Jesus’ name. We declare that no weapon formed against ###’s son shall prosper (**Isaiah 54:17**), and we command every demonic influence tied to this addiction to be broken and cast out by the blood of Jesus.
To ###, we say: Do not lose heart. Continue to pray without ceasing (**1 Thessalonians 5:17**), and let your love for your son be coupled with wisdom and boundaries. Enable him to face the consequences of his actions when necessary, for sometimes God uses these to bring us to our knees. Surround him with godly influences—believers who can speak truth and hold him accountable. And above all, trust that the Lord is working, even when you cannot see it. His timing is perfect, and His ways are higher than ours (**Isaiah 55:8-9**).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up ###’s son. Lord, You see the depths of his struggle, the pain he is causing himself and those who love him. We ask You to intervene supernaturally—break the power of addiction over his life. Convict his heart of sin and draw him to Yourself. If he does not know You, Lord, save him! Open his eyes to the truth of the Gospel, that Christ died for his sins and rose again, and that freedom is found in Him alone.
We bind the spirit of addiction and every demonic stronghold in Jesus’ name. We declare that Your light will expose the darkness in his life, and that he will turn from his sin and run to You. Give ### the strength, wisdom, and patience to walk this difficult road. Surround this family with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (**Philippians 4:7**), and let them see Your hand at work in this situation.
Lord, we ask for divine connections—godly mentors, recovery resources, and a community of believers to come alongside him. Restore what the locusts have eaten (**Joel 2:25**), and bring beauty from these ashes (**Isaiah 61:3**). We trust You, Father, and we thank You in advance for the victory You will bring. In the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer, we pray. Amen.
