Another idol that is not God

"This they do because they don't know the Father".I think idolatry is when a person or group of people take the object {or addiction,like a drug}and think it's the one thing that can help them.Of course, when they believe it's the only thing that can help them,they're ruling out God, because they're relying on it instead of God to help them.One thing in the present I think has become an idol{based on the large number of people praising it to the high Heavens, and thinking it's a cure-all for everything}is pot. In the past ,a certain type of person smoked it, but others didn't. Now, more and more I hear states legalizing it, editorials praising it like it's the greatest.{I mean even recreational pot.}They try to rationalize their support of it{"it's safer than cigarettes, alcohol is legal," etc.}But why compare sins, as an excuse for commiting your sin?Yes, alcohol and cigarettes are sins, but I didn't know there was a "comparison sheet" between sins, to be used as a rationalization to commit yours.{Or, an excuse} For one , it's a drug, but secondly,like I say,if pot is what you rely on instead of God, isn't that a lack of faith in God,and putting something ahead of God, which is idolatry?Either you look to God for help...or you rely on pot. Which is it?

DEAR HEAVENLY FATHER GOD,
In Jesus' name, I pray for your cleansing and your presence in my life tonight. I need repentance, I need wisdom, and I need foregiveness of my NEGLECT.

Anything that comes before the Lord is an adol. Your car can be idol. The Roll Royce you just purchased and it costs a lot of money. The motorcycle also can be an idol. You ride it all the time and you feel free to roam wherever you want. May sure your heart is with Jesus all the time. Do not love the world not the things of the world. If you love the world then the love of the Father is not in you. Instead, love the Lord with all your heart, with all your mind and with all your strenght. He will bless your life and give you everything you need.
