We join with you in this heartfelt request before our heavenly Father and we thank you for coming in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the throne of grace.

We hear your desire to be free from anger and from negative influences in music, to walk authentically as the person God created you to be, and to grow in persistence and perseverance. These are godly desires and the Lord honors them.

The Word tells us to keep our hearts with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life, Proverbs 4:23. Anger itself can take root in the heart and mind when we dwell on hurt, frustration, or injustice, but Scripture calls us to release it. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you, Ephesians 4:31-32. We must not hold onto anger, but confess it to God and allow His Spirit to replace it with peace and self-control.

We also understand your concern about negative music. What we allow into our minds shapes our thoughts and our spirit. Whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report: if there is any virtue and if there is any praise, think about these things, Philippians 4:8. Music that glorifies darkness, anger, impurity, or despair can feed the very struggles you want to be free from. Instead we are encouraged to let the word of Christ dwell in you richly and to speak to one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, Colossians 3:16, Ephesians 5:19. We encourage you to be discerning and to fill your mind with what builds you up in Christ.

Your longing to be yourself and not copy anyone else is beautiful in God's eyes, for you are fearfully and wonderfully made, Psalm 139:14. God did not create you to be an imitation of others. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, Romans 12:2. As you seek Him, He will show you more of who you are in Christ and give you confidence to walk in the unique gifts and calling He has given you.

And your prayer for persistence and perseverance is so important. The Lord uses perseverance to mature us. Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing, James 1:4. Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we do not give up, Galatians 6:9.

We pray with you now.

Father in heaven, we lift up this dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ. We ask You to kindly remove all anger from their heart and mind and to heal any wounds that have fueled it. Renew their thoughts and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Help them to discern and turn away from any music or influence that does not honor You, and to delight instead in what is pure and edifying. Reveal to them the wonderful way You have created them, that they may walk confidently as Your child without feeling the need to copy anyone else. Grant them strength to be persistent and to persevere through every trial, knowing that You are working all things for their good. Keep them steadfast in Your Word and close to You each day. We ask this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We appreciate you sharing this so plainly with us. Wanting anger lifted from your heart and mind, wanting freedom from music that drags you down, wanting to be the person God made you to be and to keep going without giving up, those are good and honest desires before the Lord.

We have found it helps to remember anger often signals something underneath, like hurt over the past, frustration in the present, or fear about what is ahead. Noticing what is underneath can make it easier to bring that specific need to God instead of staying stuck in the anger itself. And you are wise to notice music, what we listen to again and again shapes our thoughts and mood more than we realize.

One small step that may help this week is to pay attention to two things together. When anger rises, pause briefly and name what feels hurt or frustrated or fearful in that moment, and also notice which songs tend to stir anger or copying and choose to turn them off for a while, replacing that time with quiet, prayer, or music that steadies you.

Father, we lift our friend to You in Jesus name. Quiet the anger in heart and mind, clear away what is harmful in what they hear, and form in them a steady sense of who they are in You. Give them grace to persevere one day at a time and to walk faithfully as themselves before You. Amen.

Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. Your prayer is a good and needful one, and we join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ.

You have asked the Lord to remove anger from heart and mind, to deliver you from negative music, to make you truly yourself in Him and not a copy of others, and to grant you persistence to persevere. These are petitions which God delights to answer, for they are according to His will.

Concerning anger, Scripture teaches that it is not to be merely restrained but put away by the grace of God. The same Spirit who convicts of sin can create within you a meek and quiet spirit. We pray that the Lord would wash your heart and renew your mind, that where anger has lodged, He would plant love, patience and self control, which are the fruit of His Spirit. Go to Him at once when anger rises, confess it plainly, and ask pardon through the blood of Christ, and seek strength to put on the new man which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Concerning music and what enters the mind, remember that as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he. What you hear with your ears soon finds a lodging in your soul. We pray that the Lord would give you discernment to turn away from that which feeds darkness and to fill your mind with whatsoever things are true, pure and lovely, that your thoughts may be brought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, and let your songs be psalms and hymns that lift the heart to Him.

Concerning being yourself and not copying others, know that God has made you fearfully and wonderfully, and He does not call you to be an imitation of another, but to be conformed to the image of His Son. The world presses you into its mould, but the Lord forms you after His own purpose. We pray that you may find your identity not in comparison with others, but in being rooted in Christ, walking in the good works which He has before ordained for you.

And concerning perseverance, take great comfort in this precious truth, that the perseverance of the saints is perseverance in holiness, secured by covenant promise. The Lord says, They shall not depart from me, and He who has begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. They shall never perish. This is not a cause for presumption, but for holy confidence and diligent pursuit. He will not depart from you, and by His grace you shall not depart from Him. The righteous shall hold on his way. Therefore be steadfast, watch and pray, feed daily upon Scripture, and keep close communion with Christ, for He is your keeper.

Heavenly Father, we ask in the name of Jesus Christ Thy Son, that Thou wouldst cleanse our brother from all anger and bitterness, and renew both heart and mind by Thy Spirit. Remove from him love for that which corrupts the soul, and give him hunger for that which is holy. Establish him in Christ, that he may not be tossed about by the example of others, but may stand firm as Thy workmanship. Grant him grace to persevere, to hold on his way, and to be kept by Thy power through faith unto salvation. Let him know that Thou art faithful to perfect that which concerneth him. In Jesus Christ's name we ask, Amen.

Be encouraged to persevere. The Lord who hears this prayer is He who keeps His people even to the end, and He will not fail you.
