We join with you in seeking the Father's forgiveness and grace, and we are thankful you have come in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and forgiveness of sins.

We hear the burden on your heart concerning what you did at the place you mentioned, and we know that godly sorrow that leads to repentance is precious to God. The Scripture assures us, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9. We also take comfort in the promise, As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. Psalm 103:12.

The Lord does not desire for you to live under condemnation when you have truly turned to Him. He says, Though your sins are as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool. Isaiah 1:18. When we confess with a sincere heart and turn away from what we have done, He forgives completely and cleanses us. We encourage you to not only confess to God but to truly repent, which means to turn away from that sin and to walk in obedience going forward. For godly sorrow produces repentance to salvation, which brings no regret. 2 Corinthians 7:10.

If what was done involved wronging another person or taking something or causing harm, we encourage you to make it right where you are able, as the Lord leads, for that is part of bearing fruit worthy of repentance. Matthew 3:8.

We pray together for you now.

Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We lift up this dear one who is seeking Your forgiveness for what was done. Lord, You see the heart and You know all that was done and the sorrow that is felt. We ask that You would forgive according to Your mercy and cleanse from all unrighteousness. Help this one to receive Your forgiveness fully and to not remain in shame, for there is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:1. Grant a renewed mind and strength to walk in holiness and to turn away from any temptation to repeat what was done. Fill this heart with Your peace and assurance that when we confess, You are faithful to forgive. Lead this life in the path of righteousness for Your name's sake and restore joy in Your salvation. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

Be encouraged and rest in His grace, and walk forward in obedience, knowing His mercies are new every morning. Lamentations 3:23.

We were moved by your simple, honest prayer asking God to forgive you for what happened there. We hear how much you want to be right with Him.

That ache you feel after doing something you regret is painful, but it also shows your heart wants to turn toward God. He invites us to come honestly, naming what we did without hiding or making excuses, and to receive the mercy He offers through Jesus. Sometimes even after we have asked, feelings of guilt can linger for a while as our hearts catch up to what God has already done. That does not mean He has not heard you.

A helpful next step when you are ready is to set aside a quiet few minutes to tell the Lord plainly what happened, what you wish you had done differently, and to ask Him to cleanse you and to help you walk differently going forward. If the burden stays heavy, consider sharing it with a trusted pastor or mature believer who can pray with you in person and encourage you.

Father, we bring our brother before You and thank You that You hear when we call on You through Jesus. Forgive what was done at that place, wash his heart clean, and give him peace and wisdom for the days ahead. Help him know he is loved and guide his steps. In Jesus' name, amen.

There is forgiveness with God that He may be feared, and your short and sincere prayer has come to the right place. You have done well to make confession, for confession must come before absolution, and that whisper, But there is forgiveness, comes into the soul after a full confession of sin.

Hear what the Lord Himself says, I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions for Mine own sake. It is a divine forgiveness, and therefore a complete forgiveness. He has no buts in His forgiveness. When you make a clean breast in confession, He will give you a clean breast by absolution. The amount of your guilt is put entirely out of consideration, seeing that God forgives not on account of the sinner, but for His own sake and for the sake of His Son who died, the Just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God. There is a fountain filled with blood, drawn from Immanuel's veins, and a believing glance of the eye to Christ on Calvary is enough. A sigh, a groan, a genuine confession, and all is done, your sin has passed away.

Yet take care that your repentance is of that holy, healthy, heavenly sort which is worked in the renewed heart by the Holy Spirit. There is a carnal repentance that comes from mere terror, but true repentance gives God glory. It says, Lord, I have no claim on Thee, I have no rights but the right to be punished, and if Thou wilt have mercy, that mercy shall be all of grace. When guilt is forgiven, guile is forsaken. The pardoned man has done with excuses and with hiding sin, for the work of the Spirit is linked with the work of the Son, when the Son removes guilt, the Spirit removes guile. Make then a full and honest confession before the Lord who already knows what was done, and forsake that sin as an evil tenant to be ejected, that Christ alone may be master of the heart.

Do not think that repentance is a thing to be gotten through at the commencement and then done with. Repentance lives as long as faith. Sweet sister Repentance is charming company and should walk with us even to the gates of pearl. We shall always mourn, even in our joy for pardoned guilt, that we who are the favorites of Heaven should have so grieved so holy, so good, so glorious a Being as our God. Let the goodness of God lead you to such repentance, to weep and abhor past sin because of the love of Christ which has pardoned it, and to avoid present sin because of the love of God who died for you.

Be assured, there is forgiveness with Him at this moment, whatever your sin may have been, and it is to be obtained from God through Jesus Christ His Son alone. Trust Him now. Rest not in your prayer itself, but in His precious blood which makes forgiveness easy and eternal. He not only forgives at the first, but continues daily to forgive, and His forgiveness is an absolute blotting out of the debt.

May the Lord give you a full assurance of this forgiveness, and with it a heart that turns from sin and follows holiness. May He keep you near the cross, where repentance makes a rainbow with her tears of grief for sin and her glances of hope at the love of Christ and His finished work. Go and rejoice in the mercy you have received, and walk in newness of life to His praise.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
