We join you in bringing this burden before our heavenly Father and we thank you for coming in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the throne of grace.

We understand how a single scene can linger in the mind and trouble the heart, and we hear your desire for it to be removed and cleansed from your thoughts and from view. God cares about what we set before our eyes and what we dwell on in our hearts. As it is written, I will set no vile thing before my eyes Psalm 101:3, and Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is any praise, think about these things Philippians 4:8. We also take comfort that You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you Isaiah 26:3.

We pray together for you now. Father, we lift up this scene from ### that weighs on our dear one. We ask in Jesus name that You would remove its influence and its memory from the mind, wash away any distress or defilement it has caused, and replace it with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. If it is Your will, we ask that You would cause that scene to be removed from circulation or made no longer a stumbling block to others, but above all we ask that You would guard the heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Help us to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ as taught in 2 Corinthians 10:5 and to be transformed by the renewing of our minds Romans 12:2. We ask that You would fill the thoughts with what is pure and lovely and true, and that You would grant rest and assurance that You are sovereign and able to redeem and cleanse. We thank You that when we confess and bring these things to You, You are faithful to cleanse and forgive 1 John 1:9. We entrust this request to Your perfect will and timing, asking for comfort and freedom from this burden, in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ we pray, amen.

We hear how much you want this one scene gone, how it sticks in your mind when you wish you could just be free of it. Thank you for bringing it honestly to the Father.

We cannot go back and edit what was filmed in 1992, but we can ask God to do the deeper work in us, to loosen the hold that image has and to give you peace as you walk with Him. That kind of renewal is often more like training than a quick fix, small faithful steps over time as we turn our attention toward what is good and life giving.

One thing that helps many people when an unwanted image comes back is to have a simple plan in place. Notice it, briefly pray and ask Jesus to guard your thoughts, then gently turn to something else that is wholesome, a walk, a conversation, a helpful task or worship music, rather than replaying or searching for the clip again. If it continues to feel heavy, it can help to share with a trusted pastor or friend who can pray with you regularly.

Father, we lift this burden to You in Jesus name. Quiet this memory for our friend, guard his mind with Your peace, and help him keep his thoughts fixed on what is pure and hopeful. Lead him day by day into greater freedom and rest in You. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We have heard your brief and earnest petition and we join you in bringing it before the throne of grace.

You ask the Lord to remove that which troubles your mind, and this desire for purity and peace is itself a good thing. Know this, that the Lord has thoughts toward His people, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give them an expected end. His thoughts are not as our thoughts, nor His ways as our ways, for as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are His thoughts higher than ours. What may seem to us to be a small matter of a scene that lingers in the memory is known fully to Him, and He seeks your peace, He creates your peace and He sustains your peace.

The word of the Lord promises, Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee, because he trusteth in Thee. Perfect peace is not found in the editing of a film or in the mere removal of an image from before the eyes, but in a mind stayed upon Christ. The blood of Jesus whispers peace within, and that peace is a present possession which may be enjoyed even when sorrows and memories press upon us. True peace with God is the fountain, and peace in the conscience is the crystal stream which issues from it, and this peace is made only through Jesus Christ, for there is no other name whereby we can be saved and no other foundation for peace can be laid.

Therefore we pray for you that the Lord would grant you that filling peace which comes by believing. May He cleanse your thoughts, may He turn your mind more fully to Christ, and may He keep you in that calm which passes all understanding. If there is an image that defiles or disturbs, may the Lord in His mercy wash it from your mind by the renewing of your heart, and may He help you to fix your thoughts upon those things which are pure and lovely and of good report, and above all upon the Lord Jesus Himself.

Let us pray together.

Heavenly Father, we bring this dear soul before Thee, asking in the name of Jesus Christ Thy Son that Thou wouldst grant perfect peace to a mind that seeks to be stayed upon Thee. Thou knowest the burden of this memory and the scene that causes trouble. We ask that Thou wouldst in Thy grace remove its power and its sting, cleanse the thoughts, and fill the heart with the peace which is found only through the blood of Christ. Teach this one to trust Thee more fully, to believe Thy word which cannot lie, and to rest in Thy higher and wiser thoughts which are thoughts of peace. Keep this soul near to Thyself, and when waking and when lying down, let it be still with Thee. We ask this not because we are worthy, but because Jesus Christ has made peace by His blood. In Jesus Christ's name we pray, Amen.

Your prayer has been heard and we join you in bringing it before our heavenly Father in the name of Jesus Christ.

You have asked that a scene which troubles you would be taken away. We understand this as a desire for a clean heart and a quiet mind, and that is a good and holy desire. Scripture teaches us to follow peace with all people and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord. It also teaches that God is spirit and He desires worship in spirit and in truth, not only outward cleansing but inward purity of mind and heart. To offer ourselves to Him as a living sacrifice is to turn away from what defiles and to give our thoughts to what is pure.

We pray that the peace of God would rule in your heart like an umpire. When two thoughts wrestle within, one drawing toward what is impure and one calling toward endurance and purity, may His peace give the prize to what is good and put to shame what is harmful. This peace is not the fleeting peace that comes from man, but the steadfast peace which Christ Himself gave and which He made between us and God.

Let us pray together. Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, who alone is the way of salvation, we ask for Your mercy and cleansing. Wash this mind and heart and remove the power of this image that causes distress. Take away what is unholy and plant in its place thoughts that are true and pure and pleasing to You. Grant quietness, strength to turn away from what harms the soul, and grace to walk in holiness. Fill this heart with thankfulness and lowliness of mind, and keep it in Your peace. Amen.

Continue to guard your heart with care. Fill your mind with Scripture, with prayer, and with thanksgiving in all things. Seek that peace which is the mother of all good things and the foundation of joy, and pursue holiness in daily life. Where peace reigns, love grows, and the Lord who is our peace will keep you.
