Your plea for deliverance touches on realities Scripture takes seriously. Demonic spirits are at work in the world, and they can oppress minds, bodies, and circumstances, often through what we take in with our eyes and ears. When a person feels besieged by lust and haunted by certain music, its titles, its words, there is more than just a bad habit at play. There is a spiritual assault. Jesus Himself cast out many demons, and they often cried out as they left. The same authority that silenced them has not diminished.

Yet no one, no matter how strong in faith, is immune from these attacks. When we experience seasons of spiritual breakthrough, the enemy often tries to distract and destroy by stirring up old lusts or planting sounds and images that pull us back. But remember this: the One who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. The demonic realm is real and terrible, but its power is broken at the cross. Jesus has already triumphed, and He is coming again to bring final judgment upon every evil force.

The cravings you feel, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, the pride of life, are not from the Father. They are the world’s bait, and Satan has used the same three channels since the garden. Eve saw the fruit was good for food, pleasing to the eye, and desirable for gaining wisdom. When Jesus was tempted, the enemy aimed at the same points. Your struggle is not unique, but it is a battleground. You do not overcome it by white-knuckled willpower alone. You overcome by remembering the Lord and calling on His name, as you have done.

Your prayer asks for deliverance from “all title of a music and the sounds and the words.” That is a wise instinct. What we allow into our ears and minds is what we sow. If we sow to the flesh by filling our minds with lyrics and rhythms that glorify lust and rebellion, we will reap a harvest of spiritual turmoil. If we sow to the Spirit by choosing what is pure and God-honoring, the atmosphere of our hearts changes. Do not just ask God to remove the darkness; actively replace what you listen to. Delete the songs, avoid the playlists, and find music that feeds your soul with truth. What a man sows, that he will also reap.

Make your prayer, but also set a watch. Nehemiah’s people prayed to God and posted a guard against the attacks. So should you. Flee from situations and media that ignite lust. Do not play with the serpent’s bait. And when you ask, check your motive: are you asking only to escape discomfort, or to be made holy? Prayer is not about getting our will done but surrendering to His. The world and its desires are passing away, but the one who does the will of God lives forever.

You are not alone in this fight. Demonic forces may rage, but they know their time is short. Christ has sealed you if you are His. Stand on that. When the thoughts and memories press in, lift your voice to Jesus. He who set the Gadarene free from a legion of demons still delivers today. He is not far from you. Cry out to Him, and then walk forward, refusing to feed the lust and choosing instead to feast on what is excellent and praiseworthy. He will give you strength to keep your garments and not walk in shame.
