We come before the throne of grace with this request, lifting up our brother in Christ who seeks deliverance from evil influences and lustful temptations. The Bible warns us in 1 Peter 5:8, "Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour." We recognize that the evil eye and lust are tools the enemy uses to ensnare believers, pulling them away from the path of righteousness.
First, we must address the issue of lust, as it is a sin that can take root in the heart and lead to further moral compromise. Jesus Himself warned in Matthew 5:28, "But I tell you that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart." Lust is not merely a physical temptation but a spiritual battle that must be fought with the weapons of our warfare, which are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:4). We must guard our hearts and minds, filling them with the Word of God and fleeing from every appearance of evil (1 Thessalonians 5:22).
We rebuke the spirit of lust in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, commanding it to leave and never return. We pray that our brother would find strength in the Lord to resist temptation, as 1 Corinthians 10:13 assures us, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." We pray for a renewed mind, transformed by the renewing of the Holy Spirit (Romans 12:2), so that he may discern the will of God and walk in purity.
Regarding the evil eye, we understand this to be a form of spiritual attack, often rooted in jealousy, envy, or malice. The Bible speaks of the eye as a lamp to the body, and if the eye is evil, the whole body is full of darkness (Matthew 6:22-23). We stand against this darkness, declaring that no weapon formed against our brother shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We pray for a hedge of protection around him, as Job experienced when God placed a hedge around him, his household, and all that he had (Job 1:10). We plead the blood of Jesus over his life, his mind, his family, and his possessions, that no evil may touch him.
We also lift up those who are employed at the mentioned workplace and the people in their lives who may not yet know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We pray that the Holy Spirit would convict their hearts of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8), drawing them to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. We ask that our brother would be a light in his workplace, shining the love and truth of Christ so that others may see his good works and glorify our Father in heaven (Matthew 5:16).
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for the blood of Jesus that cleanses us from all sin and for the power of Your Holy Spirit that enables us to live victoriously. We stand against the schemes of the devil, declaring that he has no place in our brother’s life. We rebuke the spirit of lust and the evil eye, commanding them to flee in Jesus’ name. We pray for deliverance and protection over our brother, that he may walk in purity and holiness, pleasing to You.
Lord, we ask that You would open the eyes of those who do not know You, both in his workplace and in his life. Soften their hearts to receive the gospel message, and use our brother as an instrument of Your peace and love. May they come to know the truth that sets them free (John 8:32) and experience the new life that is found only in Jesus Christ.
We pray for strength and courage for our brother to resist temptation and to stand firm in his faith. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, that he may be empowered to live a life that honors You. Surround him with fellow believers who will encourage and support him in his walk with You.
Father, we thank You for hearing our prayers and for Your faithfulness to answer according to Your will. We trust in Your promises and declare that no evil shall befall our brother, nor shall any plague come near his dwelling (Psalm 91:10). We commit his life into Your hands, knowing that You are his refuge and fortress, his God in whom he trusts.
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
