Angry and scared

I am being bombarded by children stomping in the floor above every room of mine all day and all night. God has blessed me with patience but after almost a decade I can't take anymore. My landlord refuses to do what the tenancy board says, to fix the situation. I am so angry and scared what they will do to me because they have physically assaulted me and threaten me constantly. Police have been notified but won't do anything which scares me even more. Please pray for ###.

We hear your cry for help and understand the deep frustration, fear, and exhaustion you must be feeling after enduring this torment for nearly a decade. The Word of God tells us, *"The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit"* (Psalm 34:17-18). You are not forgotten, and your suffering is seen by the Lord.

First, we must address the spiritual reality of this situation. The constant harassment, threats, and physical assault you’ve endured are not merely human actions—they are rooted in a spirit of oppression, violence, and rebellion against God’s order. We rebuke the demonic forces at work in this situation in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. *"For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places"* (Ephesians 6:12). The children involved—and those who enable their behavior—are being used as instruments of the enemy, but we declare that their plans will not prevail. *"No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn"* (Isaiah 54:17).

We also rebuke the spirit of fear that has taken hold of you. The Bible tells us, *"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind"* (2 Timothy 1:7). The threats and intimidation you face are designed to paralyze you, but we declare that you are covered by the blood of Jesus and protected by His angels. *"The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him, and delivers them"* (Psalm 34:7). We pray that the Lord would surround you with His peace, which surpasses all understanding, and that He would give you the courage to stand firm in the face of this trial.

Your landlord’s refusal to obey the law and the tenancy board’s ruling is a grave injustice, and we pray that the Lord would intervene on your behalf. *"When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles"* (Psalm 34:17). We ask that God would soften your landlord’s heart, open their eyes to the severity of this situation, and compel them to act in accordance with justice. If they continue to refuse, we pray that the Lord would expose their wrongdoing and bring about a swift resolution that protects you. *"The Lord works righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed"* (Psalm 103:6).

The failure of the police to act is deeply troubling, and we lift this up to the Lord as well. We pray that God would raise up advocates for you—whether through legal channels, community support, or divine intervention—who will stand with you and ensure your safety. *"Deliver the poor and needy; free them from the hand of the wicked"* (Psalm 82:4). We ask that the Lord would either change the hearts of those in authority or remove them from their positions if they continue to neglect their duty to protect the innocent.

We also encourage you to seek out biblical counsel and support from your local church or a trusted Christian community. Isolation can make these trials feel even heavier, but Scripture reminds us, *"Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion"* (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10). You do not have to face this alone. Reach out to believers who can pray with you, offer practical help, and stand in agreement with you for justice and peace.

Now, we lift you up in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, the name by which we are saved and through which we have access to Your throne. Lord, we lift up this dear child of Yours who is suffering under the weight of injustice, fear, and oppression. You see every stomp, every threat, every sleepless night, and every moment of anguish. You are the God who hears the cries of the afflicted, and we ask that You would move mightily on their behalf.

Father, we rebuke every spirit of violence, rebellion, and intimidation that is at work in this situation. We declare that the plans of the enemy will not prosper, and that those who seek to harm this child of Yours will be brought to justice. We ask that You would surround them with Your angels, that You would be a shield and a fortress for them, and that You would fill their heart with Your perfect peace.

Lord, we pray for their landlord—that You would either soften their heart or remove them from their position of authority if they continue to neglect their responsibility. We ask that You would intervene in the legal process, that You would raise up advocates who will fight for justice, and that You would bring about a swift and favorable resolution to this situation.

We also pray for the police and authorities involved. Father, we ask that You would either change their hearts or expose their negligence. Give them wisdom, compassion, and a sense of urgency to act on behalf of the innocent. Let Your justice roll down like waters, and Your righteousness like a mighty stream (Amos 5:24).

Father, we ask that You would provide this dear one with a safe and peaceful place to live, free from harassment and fear. Open doors that no man can shut, and close doors that no man can open (Revelation 3:7). Provide for their needs, both physically and emotionally, and surround them with believers who can offer support, prayer, and encouragement.

Most of all, Lord, we ask that You would draw them closer to You through this trial. Let them experience Your presence in a tangible way, and let their faith grow stronger as they see You move on their behalf. Remind them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). May they find comfort in Your promises and hope in Your unfailing love.

We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, the name by which we are saved, the name by which demons tremble, and the name by which every knee will bow. Amen.

Hold fast to the truth that God is your defender, and that He will not abandon you in this battle. *"The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace"* (Exodus 14:14). We stand with you in faith, believing that victory is yours through Christ Jesus.

We're right there with you, friend. It's been a long, exhausting road, hasn't it? We can't imagine the toll this has taken on you, both physically and emotionally. But remember, you're not alone in this. You've got a whole community of believers standing with you, and most importantly, you've got a God who sees you, hears you, and is fighting for you.

We've been praying for you, and we want to encourage you with some words from the Lord. "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." (2 Corinthians 12:9) You've been carrying this burden for so long, but God wants you to know that He's got this. He's not asking you to be strong enough to endure this on your own. He's asking you to trust Him, to lean into Him, and to let His strength be made perfect in your weakness.

We've been interceding for you, asking God to intervene in this situation. We've been praying for your landlord, that God would soften their heart or remove them from their position if they continue to neglect their responsibility. We've been praying for the police, that God would give them wisdom, compassion, and a sense of urgency to act on your behalf. And we've been praying for you, that God would fill you with His perfect peace, that He would provide for your needs, and that He would draw you closer to Him through this trial.

Keep trusting, keep hoping, and keep fighting. The battle might feel long and hard, but remember, the victory is already won in Jesus. He's got this, and He's got you. You're in our prayers, and we're believing with you for a swift and favorable resolution. Keep holding fast to the truth that God is your defender, and that He will not abandon you in this battle. You are loved, you are seen, and you are not alone.
