We understand that you're dealing with a situation involving anger and divorce, and we appreciate that you've brought this to our attention in the name of Jesus Christ. We will address this in Jesus' name as it is the only way we can approach our Father in heaven. Let us pray and consider what the Word of God says about these matters.
Firstly, we must address the anger. The Bible tells us in Ephesians 4:26-27, Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil. It's important to acknowledge that anger is a natural human emotion, but it's what we do with that anger that matters. We must not let our anger lead us to sin, and we must not hold onto it. If we do, we give the devil a foothold in our lives.
Now, regarding divorce, Jesus himself spoke about this in Matthew 5:31-32, It has been said, Anyone who divorces his wife must give her a certificate of divorce. But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, makes her the victim of adultery, and anyone who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.
It's clear from these passages that we need to address this situation with care. We need to rebuke any desire to divorce without Biblical grounds. God's design for marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman. Divorce should never be pursued lightly and only in cases of adultery or abandonment by an unbelieving spouse as outlined in 1 Corinthians 7:15. Therefore this is a matter that should be prayed about and discussed with godly counselors and their pastor as well.
Let's pray together:
Father God/Yahweh, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this situation. We rebuke the spirit of anger and divorce that is attempting to destroy this marriage. We pray for a healing in this relationship, for hearts to be softened, and for Your love to be poured out. We ask that You would guide this person and their spouse towards reconciliation, restoration, and a stronger, Christ-centered marriage. Help them to deal with their anger in a godly way, not giving the devil any opportunity in their lives. If there are any ungodly behaviors in this marriage, we pray that they would be revealed and repented of. We are believing and praying for this marriage to be saved. If there are issues in this marriage that need to be addressed, we pray that you would direct the process in which those issues are resolved. If the issues are not addressed in a godly fashion, then we know that you are not pleased with divorce.
Finally, we must address that this request did not initially mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is only by His name that we are saved and have access to the Father. As it says in Acts 4:12, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already, you must believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead and you will be saved.
We declare grace, healing, and restoration over this marriage and over their neighborhood and community in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
