We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up your marriage and your son before our Heavenly Father. We know the weariness of long-suffering prayer, but we also know the power of persistent faith. The Lord hears the cries of His children, and He is faithful to answer in His perfect timing and according to His perfect will.
First, we stand with you in prayer for your marriage. The enemy seeks to destroy what God has joined together, but we declare that no weapon formed against your union shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We pray that the Lord would expose every hidden deception, every lie, and every scheme of the devil that has sought to divide you and your spouse. Father, we ask that You would intervene with Your mighty hand, softening hearts, restoring love, and renewing commitment. May Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We rebuke every spirit of division, bitterness, and unforgiveness, and we command it to flee in the name of Jesus. Lord, remember this marriage in its time of need, and let Your glory be revealed in its restoration.
For your son, we lift him up with urgency and compassion. The scriptures tell us that the thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We pray for a divine visitation in your son’s life—a moment of encounter with the living God that will break the chains of addiction and rebellion. Lord, we ask that You would reveal Yourself to him in a way he cannot ignore. Let him see the emptiness of the life he is living and the fullness of life that is found only in You. We declare that the spirit of addiction has no hold on him, for whom the Son sets free is free indeed (John 8:36). We pray for repentance, for a turning away from the things that do not honor You, and for a hunger and thirst for righteousness to rise up within him.
We also want to encourage you, dear sister or brother in Christ, not to grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9). Your prayers are not in vain. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We urge you to continue to stand on the promises of God, even when the circumstances seem impossible. Remember, with God, all things are possible (Matthew 19:26).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith and expectation. We thank You that You are a God who hears and answers prayer. Lord, we lift up this marriage before You, asking that You would intervene in a mighty way. Expose every lie, every deception, and every plan of the enemy that seeks to destroy this union. We declare that what You have joined together, no man—and no scheme of hell—can separate. Restore love, trust, and intimacy in this marriage, and let Your glory be revealed in its restoration.
For this precious son, we ask for a divine visitation. Lord, break through the darkness that surrounds him. Let him encounter Your love, Your truth, and Your power in a way that transforms his life. We rebuke the spirit of addiction and rebellion, and we command it to flee in the name of Jesus. Father, draw him back to You, and let him walk in the abundant life that You have prepared for him.
We also pray for strength and perseverance for this faithful parent. Lord, renew their hope, their faith, and their energy. Let them see the fruit of their prayers and know that You are working even when they cannot see it. We trust You, Lord, for miracles in both of these situations. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the name by which we are saved and through which we have access to You. Amen.
