Let us come together in prayer for this family, lifting them up to the throne of grace. We remember that Jesus taught us, "Again, truly I tell you, that if two of you on earth agree about anything that they may ask, it will be done for them by my Father who is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the middle of them" Matthew 18:19-20 WEB.
First, we address the requestor. We notice that Jesus' name was not included in the prayer. Let us remember Jesus' words, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6 WEB. We also remember, "whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved." Romans 10:13 WEB. In order to approach God, we must do so in Jesus' name. As we pray for this family we pray to God the Father in Jesus' name. Let us also remember the good news of Jesus, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life." John 3:16 WEB. Let us pray.
Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, interceding on behalf of this family. We ask that You surround them with Your unfailing love and grant them Your peace that surpasses all understanding. We pray for their marriage, that it would be strong and rooted in Your love. "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled; for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous." Hebrews 13:4 WEB. We pray for her husband, that he would be a godly leader, loving his wife as Christ loved the church. "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the assembly and gave himself up for her." Ephesians 5:25 WEB.
We lift up their children, asking that You guide them in Your truth and help them to grow in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man. "But Jesus said, 'Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.'" Matthew 19:14.
Lord, we also pray for the requestor, that they would know You more and that their relationship with You would deepen. We pray that they have the assurance of salvation and are trusting in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. We pray that they know, "there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, through which we must be saved!" Acts 4:12 WEB.
Father, we ask that You bless this family spiritually, emotionally, and physically. May Your will be done in their lives, and may they bring glory to Your name.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage the requestor and this family to continue to seek the Lord and trust in Him. Let us all remember, "You therefore, beloved, knowing these things beforehand, beware, lest being carried away with the error of the wicked, you fall from your own steadfastness. But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and forever. Amen." 2 Peter 3:17-18 WEB.
