Alaska Update / Thursday – prayer answered

Humble Prayer Warrior
There is power and prayer (James 5:16)!

Dear friends and prayer warriors, I wanted to share with you a prayer that has been answered.

Background:

In August 2022, my job in Alaska was complete. My wife and daughter we’re going overseas to visit family. My son’s and I were going to Texas to set up our new home and start my new job.

After I had left Alaska, my wife hired an attorney and the attorney claim that I stole the boys and took them across state lines. The judge gave permission for her to get them. She did it was one of the most painful days of my life, I have not seen my children in three years.

i’m sure I have uttered over 1 million prayers since then. I pleaded with God for reconciliation and other things including opening a door for me to go back to Alaska.

Finally, God answered the prayer and took me to Alaska on August 19, 2024 I was confident that reconciliation would soon follow. I was walking by faith and not by sight.

I have been here over a year now and it has been one of the most difficult years of my life. I’ve had so many Job-like experiences. I’ve lost four jobs, good paying jobs. I lived in the shelter, 4.5 miles in the back of my van for 28 nights. I lived in a roach infested basement for 4.5 months.

Please realize, everything in Alaska is more expensive and more difficult. Things that would be easy to do in Texas are many times more difficult up here.

Today, God gave me an apartment. It’s a very simple apartment but it’s very clean and a nice building. I’ll look up my window and see the woods. It has a kitchen and a Jacuzzi tub and a bathroom. In Miss Lee’s basement, it was roach infested, there was no kitchen and I had an outhouse. Yes, an outhouse.

I wanted to come on here and say thank you to all who have prayed for me. My prayer battles are not over, but I am so thankful to God for a place to live.

Thank you, God for giving me this apartment!

The VA has offered to pay for four months. After that, they will not help me any further. So, that’s $1500 a month. Again, everything is more expensive in Alaska.

So I have set some goals. I want to utilize every single day in this apartment to make myself better both mentally physically and spiritually.

If you have followed my story, you know that I make my living right now through gig work. Over the last few months, I have learned to make a full-time salary doing it. It could be that God has blessed me. For example, yesterday morning I made $145 approximately in about three hours. I’m so thankful to God for those orders.

Now, I’m still having van problems. I almost feel that my van is undrivable. No van then no gig work. I’m looking at some other options but right now. I have none.

I know that God works in mysterious ways. I also know that when our back is up against the wall, that seems to be the time in which God stepped in and makes things happen.

I do not have the money necessary to fix my van. However, I contacted a roadside service guy who would help me a few months ago and he told me there was an old van just like mine at the certain spot that people go to to get parts. A guy that God sent a Mechanic is going over there in a few minutes to look if they have the parts I need.

My faith is stronger now I think that ever before. My love God is greater now than ever before I think.

I just I’m learning to trust God in a different type of way. I’m so confident he will come through for me. He knows what we need before we ask.

I still need prayers:

Deep sadness - when a spouse stabs you in the back and then steals your children; it is very painful. We should all be praying that our country would reevaluate the way they treat marriage and divorce, and especially the way fathers and dads are treated.

Reconciliation - I continue to ask and played with God for family reconciliation. I have no idea what to do. I’m putting my trust 1000% in God. If my marriage is reconciled, it will be because God orchestrated the necessary requirements. That being said, I am prepared to do whatever God shows me to do or whatever door he opens up.

I have preached the gospel for nearly 30 years. If God opens the door, I will continue to preach. I can only imagine all the sermons that would become part of my preaching with everything that I’ve been through.

Since October 2023, I have read the psalms over 30 times. They have become part of my very being. I love them. They are like a B12 shot. If I start preaching again, they will become part of every sermon that I preach.

Van fixed - I need to get my van fixed so that I can do gig work.

Other possible prayers:

On November 10, 2025, I have two interviews. One I just learned about yesterday or this morning and it is on the military base in a management type position.

The other is driving for Tesla. It is a temporary work and I have done similar work working for Volkswagen.

I will continue to do gig work, but it would be nice to have another job that paid me well enough so that I did not need to drive my car as much doing local gig work.

Thank you for your prayers

We rejoice with you in this answered prayer, brother, and we give all glory to our Heavenly Father who has provided you with this apartment after such a season of hardship. Your testimony is a powerful reminder that our God is faithful, even when the path is difficult and the trials seem unending. You have walked through the fire, yet He has not left you nor forsaken you—just as He promised in Deuteronomy 31:6: *"Be strong and courageous. Don’t be afraid or scared of them; for Yahweh your God himself is who goes with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you."*

Your suffering has not been in vain. The Lord has used this time to refine you, to draw you closer to Himself, and to deepen your trust in His sovereignty. You have clung to the Psalms, and indeed, they are a balm for the wounded soul. Psalm 34:18 declares, *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* He has been near to you in your brokenness, and He will continue to sustain you. Your love for Him has grown, and your faith has been strengthened—this is the work of the Holy Spirit in you, conforming you to the image of Christ (Romans 8:29).

We lift our voices together in thanksgiving for this provision of a home. It is a tangible reminder that God sees your needs and is moving on your behalf. As you said, He knows what we need before we even ask (Matthew 6:8). This apartment is more than just a place to live; it is a sanctuary where you can regather your strength, seek the Lord, and prepare for the next steps He has for you. We pray that this space will be filled with His peace, that it will be a place of restoration and renewal for your mind, body, and spirit. May the Lord guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus as you dwell here (Philippians 4:7).

Now, let us address the burdens you still carry, for we know that though this battle has seen victory, the war is not yet over. Your heart aches deeply for your children and the betrayal of your wife. The pain of a spouse turning against you and the separation from your children is a wound that cuts to the soul. We grieve with you over this injustice. The Lord Himself is a Father, and He understands the depth of a parent’s love for their children. In Psalm 10:14, we read, *"But you do see trouble and grief. You consider it to take it into your hand. You help the victim and the fatherless."* He sees your pain, and He is not indifferent to it. We pray that He will comfort you as only He can, binding up your broken heart and giving you the strength to endure.

We also pray for reconciliation, but we must first acknowledge that reconciliation is only possible through repentance and the transforming power of the Holy Spirit. Your wife’s actions were not only against you but against the covenant of marriage, which is a sacred institution established by God (Matthew 19:6). While we pray for her heart to be softened and for the Lord to work mightily in her life, we also recognize that true reconciliation requires a turning away from sin and a return to the Lord. Pray that she would encounter the conviction of the Holy Spirit and that her heart would be turned back to God—and to the family He entrusted to her.

As for your children, we plead with the Lord to protect them, to draw them to Himself, and to reunite you with them in His perfect timing. We pray that they would know the love of their heavenly Father even in this season of separation. The Lord is able to do immeasurably more than we ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20), and we trust Him to restore what has been broken. In the meantime, we encourage you to continue to be a man of prayer, to walk in integrity, and to trust the Lord with the outcome. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."*

We also lift up your financial needs, particularly the repair of your van and the provision for your future. The Lord has already shown Himself faithful in providing for you through gig work, and we believe He will continue to sustain you. Your trust in Him to provide the parts for your van is an example of faith in action. We pray that the mechanic would find the necessary parts, that the repairs would be completed swiftly and at a cost that is within your means. We also ask the Lord to open the right doors for employment, whether through the interviews you have coming up or another opportunity He has prepared for you. Colossians 3:23 reminds us, *"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men,"* and we pray that the Lord would guide you to work that honors Him and provides for your needs.

As you prepare for your interviews, we pray for wisdom and favor. May the Lord give you the right words to speak, and may He go before you to prepare the hearts of those who will interview you. If these jobs are His will for you, we pray that the doors would swing wide open. If not, we trust that He has something even better in store. Remember that your worth is not found in your employment or your circumstances but in Christ alone. You are a child of God, redeemed by the blood of Jesus, and He has a purpose for you in this season.

Brother, we must also address something that stands out in your request: while you have shared your heart and your struggles, we noticed that the name of Jesus was not invoked in your prayer of thanksgiving. It is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to the Father (John 14:6), and it is by His name that we are saved (Acts 4:12). We encourage you to always approach the throne of grace in the name of Jesus, for He is our Mediator and our Advocate. Let us never forget the power of His name, for *"there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12). If you have not already, we urge you to place your complete trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, confessing your sins and believing in His death and resurrection for the forgiveness of your sins. It is through this relationship with Him that we find true hope and eternal life.

We also want to affirm your calling to preach the gospel. For nearly 30 years, you have been faithful to share the Word of God, and we believe the Lord will use the trials you have endured to bring glory to His name. Your story is a testament to His faithfulness, and it will resonate with others who are walking through their own valleys. We pray that the Lord would open doors for you to preach again, that He would give you boldness and clarity, and that your messages would be anointed by the Holy Spirit. Preach the Word in season and out of season (2 Timothy 4:2), and trust that the Lord will use it to draw others to Himself.

Finally, we want to remind you that your identity is not found in your circumstances—whether in your marriage, your employment, or your living situation—but in Christ alone. You are a child of God, and He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). Even in the midst of your deepest sadness, He is near. Even when the path seems uncertain, He is leading you. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it (Philippians 1:6).

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the ways You have provided for our brother. Lord, You have been his refuge and strength, his ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We thank You for this apartment, for the VA’s provision, and for the gig work You have blessed him with. You are Jehovah-Jireh, the Lord who provides, and we praise You for Your faithfulness.

Lord, we lift up the deep sadness in his heart over the betrayal of his wife and the separation from his children. Father, You see his pain, and You collect every tear in Your bottle (Psalm 56:8). Comfort him with Your presence, and let him feel the nearness of Your love. We pray for his wife, that You would convict her heart and draw her to repentance. Softened her, Lord, and turn her back to You and to the family You entrusted to her care. Father, we pray for reconciliation, but only as it aligns with Your will and Your glory. If it is not Your will, give our brother the strength to surrender this desire to You and to trust in Your perfect plan.

We pray for his children, Lord. Protect them, draw them to Yourself, and reunite them with their father in Your perfect timing. Let them know the love of their heavenly Father even in this season of separation. Raise up godly influences in their lives, and let them see Your hand at work in their family’s story.

Father, we ask for provision for the repair of his van. You know the parts that are needed, and You know the financial burden he carries. Provide the necessary resources, Lord, whether through the mechanic’s findings, a financial blessing, or another means You have ordained. We also lift up his upcoming interviews. Grant him favor, Lord, and open the right doors for employment. Give him wisdom to know Your will and the courage to walk in it.

We thank You for his heart to preach the gospel. Lord, open doors for him to share Your Word once again. Anoint his messages, and use his story to bring hope to others. Let him preach with boldness and with the power of the Holy Spirit.

Finally, Father, we pray that our brother would continue to grow in his relationship with You. Let him find his identity in Christ alone, and let him walk in the confidence that You are working all things together for his good. Strengthen his faith, Lord, and let him see Your hand at work in every area of his life.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Dear friend,

Be a Prayer Warrior: “Praying for others”

We praise the Lord with you for His faithfulness in providing this apartment—a clean, safe place to call home after such a long season of hardship and uncertainty. What a testimony of God’s provision, even in the wilderness! We rejoice that you can now see the woods from your window, that you have a kitchen to prepare meals, and a warm place to rest. After the roach-infested basement and nights spent in your van, this truly is a milestone worth celebrating. The Lord has not forgotten you, ###, and this answer to prayer is proof of His tender care over your life.

Your resilience in the face of trials that would break many men has been a powerful witness to the sustaining grace of Christ. We are especially encouraged by your heart of worship in the storm—how you’ve clung to the Psalms, how your faith has grown stronger, and how you’ve chosen to trust God in ways you never imagined. That kind of surrender is rare and precious in His sight. You’ve spoken of preaching the gospel for nearly 30 years, and we have no doubt that the sermons born from this season will carry a weight and authority that only comes from walking through the fire with Jesus.

We continue to lift up the deep sorrow you carry over the loss of your children and the betrayal you’ve endured. The pain of a spouse’s treachery and the theft of your boys is a burden no father should have to bear. We cry out with you for reconciliation—whether in your marriage or in your relationship with your sons. Lord, You are the God who restores what the locusts have eaten (Joel 2:25). You specialize in redeeming the irredeemable and healing the brokenhearted. We ask You to move mightily in this situation, to soften hearts, and to open doors that no man can shut. Give our brother wisdom to know when to act and when to wait, and let Your will be done in a way that brings You maximum glory.

We also pray over your practical needs with urgency and faith. Father, You own the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10), and You are well aware of the financial pressure our brother faces with the apartment rent after December. We ask You to provide abundantly—whether through the gig work You’ve already blessed, the interviews on November 10, or unexpected sources. Give him favor with the mechanic today as they search for parts for the van. If it’s Your will, Lord, restore that vehicle so he can continue the work You’ve provided. But if You have another plan—a better vehicle, a different job, or a creative solution—we pray for Your perfect timing and provision. Remind him that You are Jehovah Jireh, the God who sees and provides.

As you wait, we pray for supernatural peace to guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). May this apartment become a sanctuary where you are refreshed mentally, physically, and spiritually. Strengthen you for the battles ahead, and let this season of waiting be a time of deep intimacy with the Father. You’ve said that when our backs are against the wall, that’s often when God steps in—and we declare that this is one of those moments. He is working behind the scenes, even now.

###, we are standing with you. Do not hesitate to update us with new prayer requests or praises as they come. We are eager to hear how God continues to move in your life, whether through the interviews, the van, or the reconciliation of your family. Keep sharing your story—it is inspiring faith in others and bringing glory to His name.

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May He make His face shine upon you and give you peace. We are praying for you in Jesus’ name.
